COLLETT’S SKI SAFARI – No.4 17 ‐ 24 February 2018 The Ultimate Circumnavigation of the Marmolada featuring Arabba, Pordoi Pass, Val di Fassa, Canazei, Ciampac, Boffaure, Lusia, Bellamonte, Latemar, Pampeago, Obereggen, Tre Valli, Falcade, Alleghe, Civetta, Cortina, Hidden Valley & Alta Badia. Day 1: Saturday 17th February Transfer to Arabba from Venice Marco Polo or Venice Treviso airport (flight to land before 3pm). Meet your Collett’s host ahead of an evening briefing with your ski safari guide. Accommodation: Albergo La Baita Day 2: Sunday 18th February From Arabba, we ski across to the Passo Pordoi, where we descend to Canazei on the Sella Ronda. Then we branch off into the depths of the Val di Fassa, exploring Ciampac and Boffaure, both of which offer inspirational views of the west side of the Marmolada glacier. In the late afternoon we will take the valley skibus or a taxi transfer to Lusia. Accommodation: Rifugio Lusia Day 3: Monday 19th February In the morning we ski the Bellamonte area before a short skibus transfer to the Latemar. Most of the day will be spent skiing in the glorious Latemar‐Pampeago‐Obereggen Area. In the late afternoon we head back up the valley and return to Lusia. Accommodation: Rifugio Lusia Day 4: Tuesday 20th February In the morning we transfer to Passo San Pellegrino so that we can explore the extensive Tre Valli ski area; from Col Margherita we get amazing views of the sheer walls of the south side of the Marmolada glacier; from Cima Uomo the views of the Pale di San Martino and the Civetta mountains are equally as impressive. Accommodation: Rifugio Flora Alpina o Rifugio Laresei Day 5: Wednesday 21st February In the morning we ski down to Falcade and transfer to Alleghe, the perfect springboard for the 80kms of beautiful pistes that comprise the Civetta ski network. Much of the skiing here is loomed over by two Dolomite giants that exceed 3000m ‐ Pelmo and Civetta. From the top of the Alleghe cable car (Piani di Pezzè), we get a dramatic view of the eastern flanks of the mighty Marmolada glacier. Accommodation: Rifugio Staulanza o Rifugio Aquileia Day 6: Thursday 22nd February Today is dedicated to beautiful Cortina with its fantastic variety of slopes, all set against the most majestic backdrops, including the “Olimpia” slope where every year they host the ladies World Cup downhill race. The cable car “Freccia nel Cielo” (Arrow in the Sky) will take us to Ra Valles, a wonderful lookout point above the entire valley of Cortina. Accommodation: Rifugio Lagazuoi Day 7: Friday 23rd February Today we ski the celebrated Hidden Valley, at the bottom of which you will be towed by horses to Armentarola in the Alta Badia ski network. With the Marmolada’s brilliant white glacier dominating the southern skyline we wend our way across the Alta Badia ski fields before making a dramatic descent into Arabba to complete our tour. Accommodation: Albergo La Baita Day 8: Saturday 24th February Return airport transfer back to Venice Marco Polo or Venice Treviso airports. (Please do not book a flight that takes off before 11am). COLLETT’S SKI SAFARI – No.4  17 ‐ 24 February 2018 

The Ultimate Circumnavigation of the Marmolada  featuring Arabba,  Pordoi  Pass,  Val  di  Fassa,  Canazei ,  Ciampac,  Boffaure,  Lusia,  Bel lamonte,  Latemar,  Pampeago,  Obereggen,  Tre Val l i ,  Falcade,  Al leghe,  Civetta,  Cortina,  Hidden Val ley & Alta Badia.  

 

Day 1: Saturday 17th February Transfer to Arabba from Venice Marco Polo or Venice Treviso airport (flight to land before 3pm). Meet your Collett’s host ahead of an evening briefing with your ski safari guide. Accommodation: Albergo La Baita
