Community Colleges

UCs and CSUs take CC transfers before transfers from a 4 year College
I’ll go to SDSU and transfer to UCSD….
WRONG!!
You are behind everyone else in priority and may not get in!!!
They will probably fill all transfer spots with CC students.

Private College/University
Many people think private schools are too expensive…
…however they often give more money in grants and scholarships
Apply for financial aid when you apply to the school, NOT after you have been accepted!
What private schools want to know about you…
Take initiative, self starter, mature, concern for others, sense of humor, tolerance, ability to work with others
Telling signs of maturity…
Do you have the ability to work out solutions on your own and seek advice on your own?
Do you take charge of your own life?
Do you do things in a timely manner?
