Model UN - Keeping Students Engaged• For the past 2 years, COC's Model U.N. team has

won many awards and ranked 28th in the nation!• With the COVID-19 crisis and the cancellation of

their on-campus spring conference, COC’s MUN students had to reimagine and adapt their conference to the virtual world.

• With help from Model UN alumni and input from delegates across the state, COC students have spent countless hours creating videos tutorials and developing an entirely new set of rules of procedure to fit the virtual setting.

• Wish our COC MUN students much success as they host and compete in this ground-breaking event!

COCMUN 2020, COC Model UN will host and compete in the first virtual model UN conference on May 16!

Student Survey• As noted last week, the Institutional Research, Planning, &

Institutional Effectiveness (IRPIE) Office deployed a general student survey to assess how students are doing during this time and to continue to gauge opportunities to most responsively support them in a remote learning environment.

• A reminder message went out Monday, and currently more than 3,500 students have responded to the survey, which also included an option for students to request additional assistance from the College (150 requests).

• The survey closes Monday, and the findings and feedback will help COC to continue to ensure that our students have outstanding support during this time.

Campus Cleaning• With a dedicated staff of 7 CDC-trained Custodians, we have systematically completed the lecture

and lab cleaning and sanitizing of the following buildings:• UCEN• Aliso Labs• Aliso Hall• Boykin Hall• Bonelli Hall• Seco Hall

• We will continue on to Mentry this week, then the Library, Canyons Hall, etc. • Offices will be cleaned and sanitized just prior to the return to campus, as they are being used

intermittently throughout the Stay At Home Order.• In addition, we have ordered new equipment that will be able to very quickly and efficiently clean

and sanitize a space – identical to the systems used by hospitals and mass transit operators. • We are always looking for better and more effective/efficient ways of keeping the campus

community safe and healthy – no matter what the environment throws our way.
