• I chose this magazine cover due to the fact it is very simple and isn’t overcrowded like many magazine articles which would turn me off of buying it.

• It has the main image, the masthead, the main article and the sponsor.

• It has an artist on the front image who is very popular at this moment in time.

• The main article and image are related to the best festivals of 2010 which are mostly aimed at students

College Magazine Research • I chose this magazine cover due to

the fact it is very simple and has only a few features to the main cover yet it looks interesting. It has the main image, the masthead and the main article.

• It has a live picture of a lead singer of a popular band which would attract customers that listen to that genre of music.

• The main article and image are related to the best festivals of 2010 which are mostly aimed at students and has a ‘media pack’ to the festivals which people would believe help them at the festivals.

This font is Sans Serif and is similar to the one I used for the ‘Student’ part of my masthead

This font is eXO2 Stencil and looks very edgy and could appeal to the younger audience because it is a lot like graffiti art.

This font is Serif. I believe it looks a little bit too formal for my magazine.

This is the original image that I used for the front cover. It is an original medium close of my friend, Katheryn smoking and this subject is the lead

article for my magazine. The actual cigarette is the main

subject of the lead article and is centred to make the

audience believe it to be important.

I started with this medium close up shot as the background of my front cover

I then copied, pasted, cropped and coloured this title from dafont.com as half of my masthead

I also did the same this part of the mast head as the first part.


I gradually added these texts to the front cover as the left third as part of the lead article.


I added this competition at the bottom of the page

but decided it did not stand out enough so I added a background

to help attract people’s eyes


I then added the date, price and barcode to finish the front cover


I dragged the ‘Student’ and ‘Today’ headlines onto the contents page to match the front cover
