Advanced Placement (AP)
• A college-level course offered to high school students taught by specially trained high school instructors
• A program available to all high school students through the College Board; college admissions is not required; credit is based on an acceptable end-of-course assessment score

International Baccalaureate (IB)
• The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers high quality programs of international education to a worldwide community of schools. There are more than 745,000 IB students at 2,714 schools in 138 countries.
• Offers a challenging two-year curriculum offered at select high schools throughout the state.
• Completion of the program may earn college credit for a student who scores well on end-of-course assessment.

Dual Academic Credit (Accel)
• A non-need based grant• Available to GA high school students• Students must be accepted to the selected college• A program to earn academic high school & college
credit simultaneously• Accel courses will count as part of the maximum
hours of HOPE eligibility
Dual Technical Credit (HOPE Grant)
• A non-need based grant• Available to GA high school students• A program to earn credit towards a certificate or diploma
program while still in high school• Students must be accepted for admissions to the selected
college• HOPE funded and does not count as part of the maximum
hours of eligibility for HOPE
Move On When Ready
• High school juniors and seniors are eligible• Students must enroll at the selected college• Students can take classes at the eligible institution
or virtual courses • Tuition is FREE paid by the local school
Articulated Credit
• Students can earn technical college credit for technical and career courses (CTAE courses) successfully taken and passed in high school; credit is awarded at the college level once the student is admitted to the college and can pass a validation exam for that course
Joint Enrollment (JE)
• Students admitted to a selected postsecondary institution
• Students earn college-level credit only

Advanced Academy
The Advanced Academy at The State University of West Georgia.• For academically strong students• To focus on college level learning early, to have a flexible
daily schedule, and to earn high school and college credit at the same time.

• Students enroll is an eligible postsecondary institution; available only at selected sites
• Students earn dual academic credit• Most students enter Early College prior to the
junior year of high school• Funding is provided through the Accel Program
