Disciples in MissionDisciples in MissionDisciples in MissionDisciples in Mission
Jesus’ words today make it very clear how we are live as his followers. “Love your enemies” … “do good to those who curse you” ... “pray for those who mistreat you” ... “give to everyone who asks of you (and) don’t demand it back” … “Stop judging” … “Forgive and you will be forgiven.” Jesus doesn’t lighten our responsibility, rather, he restates his teaching emphasizing that the extent to which we are willing to follow/live his words is what will be returned to us. Ask Christ to help you this week to put his words into action in your life. Notice the difference it makes in your relationships.

Collaborative Book Club
Our next Collaborative Book Club will be on
February 28, 2019 at 7:00 pm
at the St. Francis of Assisi Dining Hall
Our Book Club selected Bishop Robert Reed’s book to read and share in discussion.
Renewed: Ten Ways to Rediscover the Saints,
Embrace Your Gifts, and Revive Your Catholic Faith
by Bishop Robert P. Reed
“Bishop Robert Reed believes that the best remedy for discouraged Catholics is a reclaimed sense of the tradition’s riches as embodied in the lives of the saints. In this passionate call to renewal, he profiles twenty saints who, like Catholics today, lived in times of crises when the way forward was unclear. Bishop Reed creatively pairs saints who at first glance seem to be unlikely companions to suggest ways readers can begin the work of personal renewal
that is essential for Church-wide change. In a down-to-earth and encouraging tone, Bishop Reed provides ten persuasive and practical lessons for the revitalization of the Church that maps out steps for a grassroots awakening that every Catholic can undertake today.” Catholic TV
In addition to the book, Bishop Reed offers a companion video series on demand for free. The videos are available at http://www.catholictv.org/shows/renewed
If you are interested in joining the Book Club, please contact the Parish Office to sign up. We have a limited number of copies of the book available at our office for purchase at a discounted rate of $10.
