The last meeting between the schools was last season (10/3/15) with SCSU winning at home 62-14. The last time that St. Cloud State played in Crookston, Minn. the program won 45-24 during the 2014 season. The closest game between the programs was during the 2012 season with SCSU winning 36-24. The back-to-back regular season road games is the first time since 2014 that the Huskies schedule has broken this way and 19th time (6-12 record in the second game) since the start of the 2000 season. SCSU’s comeback fell one point short in a 23-22 loss to Wayne State College on Sept. 24. The loss was just the second loss in 13 all-time games against the Wildcats The Huskies are now 10-10 against NSIC South schools dating back to the start of the 2012 season SCSU is 10-8 in its last 18 outings since the end of the 2014 season. SCSU COACH SCOTT UNDERWOOD: Scott Underwood is in his ninth season as the head coach at St. Cloud State in 2016. Underwood is the 12th head football coach in the history of Husky football. Prior to being named the St. Cloud State head coach, Underwood had been the defensive coordinator for the Huskies since 2001. 2016 Key Returners• The 2016 Huskies return 11 All-NSIC selections from last season.• The program brings back All-NSIC First Team selections Jaden Huff (RB), Jameson

Parsons (WR), Craig Szymanski (LB) and Brady Westart (LB). All-NSIC Second Team award winners in 2015 who are back this fall include Bryce Johnson (OL), Mitch Knutson (DL) and Richardo Ramos (DL). All-NSIC Honorable Award winners back from 2015 are Jerry Duckworth (DB), Adam Josephson (LB), Grant Lewis (OL), and Nate Meyer (QB)

• The team returns two-year starting quarterback Nate Meyer • Meyer threw for 2,851 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. • He became just the fifth quarterback in school history to throw more than 20

touchdowns in a season.• His consecutive seasons of over 2,000 yards passing the last two years made him just

the sixth quarterback in school history to accomplish the feat in back-to-back seasons.• The team also returns leading receiver Jameson Parsons, who caught 61 passes for

1,272 and nine touchdowns as a junior. • Parsons became just the fifth receiver in the school record books with a 1,000 yard

receving season as a junior.• The squad’s leading returning rusher is Jaden Huff, who ran for 741 yards and 13

touchdowns as a sophomore. • On defense, linebacker Brady Westart paced the team with his 79 tackles and racked

up 10.5 stops for loss plus 7.5 sacks.• Adam Josephson was steady on defense with his 71 tackles with fellow linebacker

• In 2015, SCSU charted 2,361 yards on the ground, while limiting opponents to 1,594 yards. In the air, SCSU gained 2,880 yards passing (194-318-12) and allowed 2,570 yards (202-350-9). The Huskies were able to outscore their opponents by a 389-255 mar-gin including 238-113 in the second and fourth quarters.

• The team brings back a total of 13 starters (six offense and seven defense) this season along with a total of 29 letterwinners, plus adds in 39 newcomers to the mix.

• The Golden Eagles have been outscored this season 212 to 34.• The UMC defense does have seven sacks, eight pass breakups,

three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries this season. • Mike Fritze is in his fourth season leading the program and has a

career record of 3-34 Last Time Out against Minnesota Crookston (10/3/15)• The Huskies defeated the Golden Eagles 62-14 last season in roll-

ing up 555 yards in offense including 28 first downs• It was a balanced running attack for SCSU with Nate Meyer

leading the charge with his 70 rushing yards on six carries plus a touchdown.

• Jaden Huff had a pair of rushing touchdowns.• Meyer also completed 14 of 19 passes for 280 yards and three

touchdowns.• Jameson Parsons hauled in six passes for 133 yards plus two

touchdowns.• Grant Thayer also went over 100 yards receiving with 104 yards

on five catches.• Ben Watters led the defense with his two sacks

Last Game - Wayne State College (9/24/16)• The Huskies came one point short in their comeback on the road

against Wayne State College in losing 23-22.• The loss was the second straight for SCSU and it was only the

sixth time that SCSU has lost two or more consecutive games since Coach Underwood took over the head coaching reigns in 2008.

• Jameson Parsons caught eight passes for 123 yards and a touch-down.

• Parsons now has 93 catches for 1,765 yards and 13 touchdowns in his last 13 games.

• The game was the 10th time that he has gone over 100 yards receiving the last two seasons (15 games).

• Parsons’ 123 yards was his fifth time over 120 yards receiving in the last eight games.

• Parsons has now scored at least a receiving touchdown in three straight games and in eight of his last 11 contests.

• As a team, the Huskies have had a receiver go over 100 yards receiving in every game this season.

• Nate Meyer completed 21 of 40 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns.

No. 19/21 Minnesota State (9/17/16) - Notables• The Huskies fell to Minnesota State by a 45-12 score in the team’s

Celebrate! Game on Sept. 17.• Jameson Parsons hauled in seven passes for 119 yards and a

touchdown.• Parsons had a career-long 69-yard reception in the game.• His previous career-long was a 66-yard reception against MSU

Moorhead last year (10/31/15).• Despite starting his career at SCSU as a quarterback (before mov-

ing to wide receiver full-time prior to the 2015 season) and having had 30 previous passing attempts, Parsons also connected on the first touchdown pass of his career to redshirt freshman linebacker Graham Miller (an eight-yard pass off a fake field goal) for the Huskies’ first touchdown of the game.

• The touchdown pass by a non-current quarterback for SCSU in Parsons was the first for the program since wide receiver Taylor Berger threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Grant Thayer against Minnesota Duluth (10/11/14).

• Nate Meyer completed 19-for-32 passes for 295 yards and touch-down.

• Meyer has thrown at least a touchdown pass in his last 11 games and in 20 of his 26 career games.

• Freshmen wide receivers Brad Zachowski and Nick Greenlund both caught the first pass of their careers.

Sept. 10• John Pass caught career-highs of nine passes for 138 yards plus the

eventual game-winning touchdown.• Pass’s touchdown reception was the fifth of his career and the team

is 4-1 in games in which he scores a touchdown.• Jameson Parsons hauled in a career-high 10 passes for 97 yards

plus tied his career-best with two receiving touchdowns• Parsons’ 10 catches rank in a tie for eighth-most in school history

Sioux Falls. • He bettered his previous mark of 180 yards receiving against

Southwest Minnesots State (9/19/15)• The receiving total for Parsons is the ninth-highest single total in

school history and the fourth-highest mark in any home game.• Jaden Huff scored a rushing touchdown against the Cougars on his

two-yard run.• Senior Johnnie Brown made an appearance on the offensive line

after spending his last year on the other side of the ball.• The Huskies had five players make their first career start against

Sioux Falls (John Solberg - WR, Frank Garcia - LG, Karl Rude - C, Peter Palecek - RG, Sam Hartman - TE).

Inside the Numbers - 2015 Player Notes• Jameson Parsons led the NSIC in receiving yards with 1,272 yards

and with his averaged of 115.6 yards per game. His receiving total was the second-most in school history for a single season. His 115.6 receiving yards per game placed him fifth nationally.

• Parsons also placed third in yards per reception (20.85), fourth in the league in receiving touchdowns (9), fifth in all-purpose yards (117.82) and sixth in receptions per game (5.5).

• He became just the fifth player in school history to total 1,000 or more receiving yards in a season.

• Overall, it is just the sixth time that mark has been reached. (Fred Williams - 1,616 yds. in 2010; Jameson Parsons - 1,272 yds. in 2015; Mike McKinney - 1,145 yds. in 1997; Ben Nelson - 1,072 yds. in 2002; Ryan Koch - 1,028 yds. in 2005 and Ben Nelson - 1,018 yds. in 2001).

• Jaden Huff ranked second in the NSIC with 13 rushing touchdowns. • His 13 ground touchdowns placed him seventh on the single season

sacks per game and ninth in solo tackles (4.5)• Nate Meyer was third in the NSIC in yards per pass attempt (9.14),

• Meyer became just the fourth different SCSU player to throw for over 20 touchdowns in a season along with Keith Heckendorf, Phil-lip Klaphake and Daniel Kaczor and it was just the eighth time the feat had been accomplished overall.

• Meyer’s 2,851 yards passing was the fourth-highest single season total in school history while his 190 completions were the fifth-most in the record books.

• His 2,851 yards passing in 2015 and 2,051 yards passing as a sophomore makes him just the sixth player in school history to throw for more than 2,000 yards in back-to-back campaigns.

• Meyer’s average of 9.1 yards per pass tied him for the fourth-best in school history in a single season.

• Meyer’s passing yard average of 259.2 per game ranked second in the school single season record book.

Other 2015 Notables• Jameson Parsons had 26 20-plus yard receptions during the 2015
