If all difficulties were known at the onset of a long journey, Most of us would never start out at all. (Dan Rather).Nursing school has been a long journey but an incredible one. I’ve learned so much about myself and although it has been a struggle, I have had the good fortune to have shared those struggles with some truly amazing people. To my Family thank, you for always believing in me and for all your love and encouragement. Cassandra thanks for always being there for me I couldn’t have done it without you. To the laurel gang and the gabas who helped to balance the study and the stress with fun. Thanks to all the faculty for giving us the confidence to succeed and grow as we embark on our journey no longer as student nurses but as RN’s. Congratulations to the nursing grads of 2011!! I will miss you all!!!!

Only 500 words? From James? Here goes.. Healthcare is not a commodity, it is a right. So is joining a trade union. Power concedes nothing. Don’t play the game, CHANGE the game. The capacity of the human mind for self-delusion is infinite. Try to have some faith. Relax. It’s not about you. Work for the good of all humanity. Congratulations to all! THANK YOU to our teachers! Gracias a mis padres Michael y Zulema, a mi abuela Lydia, y a Miss Reyes, que sin ellos nunca podria haber logrado mi sueño.

This is for all of you who were there for me through my journey through nursing school: Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You know a dream is like a river/Ever changin' as it flows /And a dreamer's just a vessel/ That must follow where it goes/ Trying to learn from what's behind you/And never knowing what's in store/Makes each day a constant battle/ Just to stay between the shores/ And I will sail my vessel /'Til the river runs dry /Like a bird upon the wind /These waters are my sky /I'll never reach my destination /If I never try /So I will sail my vessel /'Til the river runs dry. –“The River” by Garth Brooks
