In the quest to maintain or regain younger looking skin, women (and men) from around the world have resorted to hundreds of different treatments, ingredients and even injections. Some of these products are proven to work, but come with side effects that may be undesirable, while some don’t work. Others have no research or history proving their effectiveness, and instead rely on word of mouth. In a world with so many choices and conflicting information, it can be extremely difficult to decide what works and what is just hype.

Because Sublime Beauty® recognized that there are several factors which contribute to wrinkles and aging skin, the company went in search of solutions that would target these factors and then developed the Face Whisperer® product line. The Face Whisperer® line includes a day cream, a night cream and a neck & décolleté cream which can be used in conjunction with other products like Retinol, Collagen Serum or Anti-oxidant Mask for enhanced results.

Boosting collagen production is at the top of any anti-aging skin care list. Loss of collagen as we age is a direct contributor to sagging skin, wrinkles and the look of aging (and thinning)
skin. Did you know that collagen makes up more than 70 percent of our skin and is responsible for "holding it together" for that youthful, firm and supple look? As we age, skin is less able to generate collagen. It is estimated that by age 40, the body has lost more than 15 percent of collagen production and by age 60, it has lost 45 percent. By encouraging collagen production topically, skin is supported and gains a more youthful, healthy look. All three Face Whisperer® products have ingredients proven to boost collagen levels (including Matrixyl, Trylagen and Retinoids).
HYDRATION AND MOISTURIZING COMPONENTS Hydration to nurture skin and new cell turnover is important in maintenance and proper care. Each of the Face Whisperer® products focus on hydration and healing: the day cream includes aloe, sweet almond, cucumber, carrot extract and more, while the neck cream includes an array of botanicals meant to deeply hydrate and feed the skin, such as aloe, coconut oil, lemongrass, arnica, sunflower oil and hyaluronic acid among others. Caprylic triglyceride is an emollient which promotes penetration, found in the Night cream along with the moisturizer glycerin. Quality products that could be easily absorbed without any side effects are also important to the company.

ACTIVELY RELAX AND DIMINISH WRINKLES
Relaxation of wrinkles was the third factor at play when designing the Face Whisperer® line. Two of the Face Whisperer products include Argireline®, known as the natural Botox®, which mimics the actions of Botox to relax wrinkles. Matrixyl 3000® is the star peptide in the night cream, also known to diminish wrinkles and dramatically boost collagen. (Matrixyl is also found in the Sublime Beauty® Collagen Serum.)
THE FACE WHISPERER® PRODUCT LINE
After careful research, Sublime Beauty® found that there are not that many compounds that have scientific research showing that they reduce the signs of aging. The company also found that some ingredients would work more synergistically. Taking the previously-mentioned factors and research into consideration, the Face Whisperer® Product line was created:

FACE WHISPERER® DAY CREAM WITH ARGIRELINE® and SELECTED BOTANICALS
The daytime version of the Face Whisperer® line works to fight the signs of aging by reducing fine lines and facial wrinkles, fighting free radicals that can harm the skin, and by moisturizing and fully hydrating the skin.
It contains a variety of botanical extracts that have been shown to improve the condition of aging skin, but the star of the show is the compound Argireline®, which has been clinically proven to reduce wrinkles over time when used

regularly. Some doctors call it the natural Botox® in reference to the way in which Argireline® works.
ARGIRELINE®
Argireline® was first developed in the early 2000s in Spain by the company Lipotec S.A. It is still manufactured and sold by them today as an alternative to Botox®. Chemically it is known as acetyl hexapeptide-3.
Argireline® is a non-invasive, topical alternative, to Botox® (and unlike Botox®, can be used everywhere) because the two compounds are actually chemically very similar and work in a similar way. Both compounds are chemically known as peptides, that is amino acids which are tied together by a peptide bond. Botox® is a polypeptide, while Argireline® is a hexapeptide which is a shorter chain form than Botox.

Both are considered to be neurotoxins that work by blocking neuromuscular transmission through decreased acetylcholine release. They do this by working on the fusion protein SNAP-25 and competing for a position with the natural protein. The muscle/wrinkle then becomes relaxed. When the relaxation occurs, a smoother and more youthful appearance is the result.
The manufacturer of Argireline® claims that the compound will start to show results starting in 15 days. Lipotec claims that by using a 10 percent solution of acetyl hexapeptide-3 (the same amount found in Face Whisperer® Day Cream), there is a 17 percent reduction in the depth of wrinkles in just 15 days. Within 30 days, the depth of wrinkles is reduced by 32 percent in those who use Argireline® each day.
Two separate studies have confirmed these claims. A report released based on the research of Centerchem Inc. has shown a 27 percent decrease in wrinkle depth over a 30 day period when using a 5 percent solution of acetyl hexapeptide-3, while another report done by the International Journal of Cosmetic Science in 2002 showed a 30 percent decrease in the depth of wrinkles over 30 days when using a 10 percent solution of acetyl hexapeptide-3.
FACE WHISPERER® NIGHT CREAM with MATRIXYL and RETINOL
The Face Whisperer® Night Cream combines two very powerful anti-wrinkle compounds, namely Matrixyl 3000 and retinylpalmitate (a Retinoid). Retinylpalmitate converts to retinol once on the skin. Retinol has been around since the early 1970s; it is well-researched and known as a component of formulations that improve the youthful look of skin and reduce wrinkles. Retinol encourages collagen production, sloughs off older cells and penetrates to protect and act on the skin. It can make pores smaller and diminish age spots, among other things. Though it was once looked down on as being too harsh for some, causing irritation, redness and flaking, the new formulations of retinol are much less harsh.

WHAT IS MATRIXYL®?
Matrixyl® on the other hand is a new kid on the block though researched. It works under the skin to increase the production of collagen (a recent scientific report showed 50% increase in production!), leading to firmer skin that looks young and vibrant.
Matrixyl 3000® is another peptide like Argireline®, but it works in a very different fashion. Known chemically as the two peptides PalmitoylTetrapeptide and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Matrixyl promotes the natural production of collagen in the skin. This is very different from other products which contain collagen and claim to increase collagen by adding it directly to the skin. Collagen itself cannot penetrate the skin, making a product such as Matrixyl®, which actively promotes the production of new collagen, a much more effective solution to the dilemma of decreasing collagen levels.
A scientific paper done by Chemist Ian Hamley of Reading University was published in Molecular Pharmaceutics showed that collagen production was doubled with Matrixyl.
Matrixyl has been also shown in several studies to repair damaged parts of the skin as well.
In 2011, a study was done showing that Matrixyl was effective in repairing the papillary dermis, a layer of skin located just below the dermis. Because this part of the skin is extremely fragile and easily damaged by UV radiation from the sun, any product that helps to repair it is a boon to those searching for younger skin.
In fact, by repairing the papillary dermis, users immediately halt the signs of aging in facial skin. The papillary dermis is responsible for skin
morphogenesis, which is how the facial skin is generated and organized at a cellular level. By repairing the papillary dermis, users also support their own body’s defenses against aging and delay the signs of aging.
A separate study conducted in 2013 showed that Matrixyl effectively encourages the body’s own production of collagen. Increased collagen is crucial to younger looking skin as it works to maintain the elasticity (degree of stretch) in the skin. Skin that is more elastic is also less prone to wrinkles. Because collagen production decreases as you age, finding a way to replace it or increase production can make a huge difference in an anti-aging regimen.
The 2013 study was done using 16 volunteers who applied a product containing Matrixyl® over the span of 60 days. One group made daily applications of the product, while the second group had twice daily applications. Both groups saw similar results, indicating that a once a day application is sufficient to realize the benefits of Matrixyl®. In these two groups, the benefits observed were an increase in skin thickness of 6.5 percent, a decrease in skin roughness of 13 percent, and a decrease in wrinkle volume of 36 percent. As a control, another group used a placebo product and recorded no changes over the 60 days of use.
WHAT IS TRYLAGEN®
Trylagen® is found in the Face Whisperer® Day cream. Trylagen® is a combination of active peptides and proteins that restore the collagen levels of skin, maintaining an adequate long-lasting collagen function that will ensure a healthy and youthful skin.
Trylagen® does three things: boosts collagen synthesis; controls collagen fibril dimensions,

and inhibits enzymatic destruction and damage. Tests conducted by Lipotec showed a 128% increase in collagen after 15 days (type 1) and 81% increase in collagen type IV after 15 days. There was a 29% decrease in wrinkle depth after 30 days.
