esutul dens specific Bucuretiului a determinat direciile principale ale proiectului. Dezvoltarea sa

necontrolat, a cauzat apariia unor pauze n interiorul construitului, pauze care devin att locuri

plcute, ct i dezagreabile. Aceste spaii pot deveni ns mult mai ... (mbietoare) dac sunt tratate cu

    grija necesar.

Concentrarea imobilelor

nspre strad a determinat apariia unei curi ample, destinat locatarilor.

respective cu o woven steel mesh on a steel substructure.

The guidelines for this project were set by the typical dense urban tissue of Bucharest. The random,

heterogeneous development of its urban frame generated voids in the urban image of Bucharest, open

spaces that can be both desireable or unpleasant, depending on the level of analyses and understanding

    underwent before effectively intervining.

This foregoing analysis reflects itself in the project when we consider the way the collecctive housingunits are organized in this ample, extensive space at its disposal. The proximity of these housing units

suggest just this, while the withdrawal from the street line generates discontinuity, the unity is kept

through this curious vicinity. The congestion of these housing units towards the street also gave birth to

the spacious courtyard secluded from the street, this intimate ample space destinated to the occupants

    of this complex.

The border between the public urban setting and the private space of the inhabitants is perceived as a

barrier by the passer-by, while the tenant sees it as a refuge, an open oasis hidden in the heart of the

tedious city. This concealment is also emphasized by the elevation of this semi-public courtyard which is

linked to the sidewalk by a series of funnel-like stair trespassings.

The units themselves each consist of a central core, a circulation node. Between this core and the outer

concrete diafragm are the actual flats with rooms oriented both to the street and to the backyard at the

same time. The main rooms take advantage of natural light while the secondary functional spaces are

oriented towards the areas deprived of natural light.

Concrete is the main construction material. The main concrete diafragm is more or less randomly

breached to let the light come in but also to express this unity of the diafragm as a whole. To mark this

tensed proximity of the housing units, the faces oriented to this crossings from one side to another are

covered with panels of woven steel mesh on a substructure anchored in the concrete coating.
