IMPORTANT!

Tools with magnetic tips (screwdrivers, Allen keys, etc.) are required to simplify the operations described.

1. removing the maChine Covers • Remove the top covers. • Remove the drive mechanism cover. • Remove the side cover. • Remove the panel side cover (a).

• Remove the panel back cover (B).

• Remove the side cover (C).

• Remove the top cover (D).

• Undo the screws (e-F) to remove the cover (g) from the sensor connection. • Remove the lid (h). • Remove the circuit board (i) and the plastic support (l) to allow the wiring (m) to be disconnected and removed. • Cut the ties (n) which secure the wires to the fixed carousel.

To prevent the connector tabs from being snapped off during this procedure, wrap tape over the electric wires disconnected.

2. Fitting the neW 3D Full Carousel

• Fit the carousel (1) using the screws (2) and the grower washers (3). • Fit the wires (a) into the carousel and remove the tape.

• Undo the screws (B-C) to remove the cover (D) from the sensor connection. • Remove the lid (e). • Remove the circuit board (F) and the plastic support (g) to allow the wiring (h) to be disconnected and removed. • As shown, pass the wires (h) through the opening provided in the sensor connection and plastic support (g). • Connect the connectors to the circuit board (F) and reassemble the board and support on the sensor connection. • Fit the lid (e).

IMPORTANT!

Take care not to crush the wires when reassembling the components.

• Fit the cover (D) with its screws (B-C).

INFORMATION!

When done, connect a sensor to check that the board is fitted correctly; the board and sensor should mate perfectly.

3. assemBling the CB3D panel • Remove the plate (a).

• Fix the CB3D panel support (1) to the casting using the screws (2) and the grower washers (3) taking care to position it correctly for the version concerned (vertical for VARIAN 1313DXT/ horizontal for VARIAN 1308DXT).

• Fit the CB3D panel (4 or 5) to the fixing point on the support using two screws (6) and two grower washers (7) and to the fixing point in the casting using two screws (8).

IMPORTANT!

LOCTITE 243 must be applied to the two screws (8) and they must NOT be completely tightened.

4. 3D Full Wiring • Insert the wires (1 - 2) and connect them to the carousel’s stepper board; then fit them into the right-hand slot on the

rotating arm casting so that they can also be connected to the converter board. • Insert the power supply cable of the CB2D panel (3) and connect it to the panel; then fit it into the left-hand slot on the

rotating arm casting so that it can also be connected to the converter board.

• Fix the electrical ground to the CB3D panel. • Secure the wires with ties as shown. • Replace the small metal clips on the casting with large metal clips so that the wires just added and connected can also

5. assemBling the 3D Full Covers

Before starting to reassemble the covers, check that all re-calibration procedures have been completed.
