My name is William Wurf and I am passionate about the health of people in Richmond and the Coal River Valley.Growing up in the area gave me a strong sense of just how wonderful living in Tasmania can be, and after studying Dentistry in Adelaide I couldn’t wait to return and start practicing in the place I love.Working centrally on the eastern shore has allowed me to meet and help so many new people from the valley, and I look forward to seeing even more of you.

I offer a down to earth, relaxed and non judgmental atmosphere for all my patients, whether their dental needs be simple or complex and I am always happy to take the time to talk about what aspect of your dental health is most important to you.I can be found at Bayfield Dental in Rosny with convenient appointment times available to suit you. Please call 03 6244 5993 for any enquiries or to make an appointment.I look forward to meeting you soon!

The Beacon Project

The Beacon Project will provide a unique tourism interpretive approach to sites and points of interest around Richmond. Locals and tourists will be able to access their local history at different sites around Richmond via a smart phone application.

This project takes interpretation to the next level and is on the cutting edge of technol-ogy use. The beacons contain the content/information and connect to visitors via the blue tooth system, using an specifically de-signed “app” that would be accessed on visi-tors’ mobile smart device.

The project uses augmented reality to im-merse the visitor in the experience using their smart devices as a window into the attraction or point of interest, bringing the experience to life as they come within the range of the beacons.

The Richmond component is part of a broader project that will see the technolo-gy implemented in the Brighton, Southern Midlands and Derwent Valley council areas.

The Project is jointly funded by the Clarence City Council (for the Richmond component) and the State Government and is expected to be completed by September this year.

Free Information session on Home Battery Storage for Solar and Wind Power

At 7 pm on Tuesday 14th August 2018Centacare Meeting Room

21 Torrens Street, Richmond

Organised by the Coal River Valley Sustainable Living Group.

Changes in solar power feed-in tariffs at the end of this year mean a drop from a payment of around 28 cents per kW to around 9 cents. This will have a big impact on power bills. Installing storage batteries may be an economical solution for you so that you can use all your own stored solar electricity rather than sending it to the grid. There is also a possibility that the scheme on trial on Bruny Island using linked home storage batteries to meet demand during peak usage periods may be extended in some form to the rest of Tasmania.Come and find out what is happening in battery storage and options for using rooftop solar power. It will help you to decide whether battery storage is a good choice for you.

RSVP to [email protected] indicate how many people will be attending
