The Coaching Core: Part Five

Five Senses Reality

Five senses reality signals to your brain: you can have your desire or goal and

survive it! A goal is often created from the cortex, and the limbic system and

primal brain either don’t believe it’s possible to achieve it or are terrified that it

can’t be survived. Not believing that you are able to survive achieving your goal

is the biggest obstacle to taking action and getting goals realized. This part of

the process is therefore very deep and valuable.

When you practice five senses reality, it connects all parts of the body and gives

the brain an integrated sense that you can achieve your goal and survive it!

So, read the client’s goal to them while they close their eyes and activate their

five senses, and ask them what they would experience if they realized this goal.

You can do this with phrases like:

• If you realized this goal, what do you see that lets you know that you got this

desire? Let them describe what they see.

• What do you touch or feel?

• Touch – emissive side of the same sense

• Feel – receptive side of touching

• What do you hear?

• What do you taste?

• What do you smell?

Things you might encounter in a client through this process:

• They feel shut-down in one or more of their senses

• They are unable to visualize or imagine it at all

The Coaching Core: Part Six

Body/Mind Mapping

The goal of body/mind mapping is to uncover unconscious or subconscious

belief systems, emotions and sensations (survival patterns and blockages) that

prevent your client from achieving their goal.

You do this by asking your client to scan their body and look for sensations,

emotions, thought patterns or areas of numbness, stuckness or blockages in

relation to achieving their goal.

Body/mind mapping has three steps, and through them all, you want your

client to scan their body and mind to find out:

• Sensations, emotions and thought patterns

• The location of these

• Any other information you feel curious about that feels relevant

Step 1: Envision the goal and scan your body/mind

Ask your client to scan their body while envisioning it and find out if there is any

part of them that isn’t comfortable with having this goal.

Step 2: Envision being just about to get your goal and scan your body/mind

Let your client imagine that their goal is really close, approaching them or just

about to become realized, and find out if there is any part of them that isn’t

comfortable with having this goal.

Step 3: Envision taking action to realize the goal and scan your body/mind

Let your client imagine the actions they will take, and find out if there is any

part of them that isn’t comfortable with having this goal.

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4

With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears

of the primal brain and limbic system. Encourage them to scan and go deep!

Make their unconscious fears and objections become conscious – and the way

to the goal becomes more clear.

Things you might encounter in a client through this process:

• They don’t feel anything

• They don’t have any objections and are all good to go

How long should you do this part?

Until you feel satisfied and you have enough real and deep information to work

with. You might do one session to create the map and then use two or three

sessions to work with what you uncovered. You can then do the body/mind

mapping again to go even deeper.

Remember, not everything needs to be heavily addressed. Let your curiosity

and intuition guide you to pick the most relevant things to move forward with.

The Coaching Core: Part Seven

Revealing and Exploring Pieces of the Body/Mind

The pieces of the body/mind that you have uncovered in the body/mind

mapping are usually trying to keep the client safe and protected or are just

operating on old belief systems or conditioning, but they are now preventing

the client from getting what he or she wants and desires now.

So you want to go deeper with the pieces of the body/mind that you feel are

the strongest, most intense and most valuable for the client, that you feel could

use an updated relationship with the client.

Get curious about that part of the body/mind and guide your client through a

process that will reveal and explore this part.

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 5

Choose at maximum three parts of the body/mind to explore, and shelf the rest

for later so as to not overwhelm yourself or the client. Pick the ones that you

intuitively feel have the most energy and meaning to your client.

Step 1: Find out how it feels

• What does it feel like… What sensations and emotions are present?

Step 2: Find the location

• Really pinpoint where it is happening.

Step 3: Invite your client to embody it

• Things in the unconscious feel foreign, far away or disconnected for most

people, so by embodying it, you get your client experience it and get a sense

of its reality.

• Ask them to move their consciousness or awareness. You can say, for example:

“The part of you that feels right now like you are in your head, or the part of

you that is talking to me right now – can you move that part of you into these

sensations?”

• This creates integration, which makes the steps and actions further ahead

more effective.

Step 4: Give it a voice

• If your client is able to embody it: then invite them to let it speak by

encouraging them to speak from this place. You will speak to that piece of

the body/mind and get this information from it:

• What is it that you want?

• What is your purpose?

Recognize that this is alive. It is a living piece of consciousness. It has its own

desires, reasons for living.

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 6

If your client is not able to embody it:

• Get the client to initiate a conversation with it, asking it the same questions

about what it wants and what the purpose of it is.

Additional Step: Give it a persona or sub-personality

Then you will decide if you can leave the body/mind piece as a sensational,

emotional complex or if you want to move it into a sub-personality or persona.

It can be helpful for some clients to personify some pieces of their body/mind.

For some clients, it can feed an illusion and story. Some people are helped by

letting it be purely a sensational reality.

The key question here is:

• What is going to help your client form a healthy integrated relationship with

this part of themselves?

If this feels challenging for you, stick with the basics: investigate the sensation,

emotions and locations – and as you get more experienced, you can investigate

and explore personas and sub-personalities.

The Coaching Core: Part Eight

Integrative Adventure

The objective of the Integrative Adventure is to create a relationship to the

body/mind pieces that are uncovered that are based in love, compassion,

understanding, communication and greater integration. Everything is held,

understood and accepted.

The key to effective and masterful coaching, it allows you to change the inner

relationship and the internal dynamic. You teach clients to relate to themselves

and their inner parts – “All of me is okay,” “I can face all of me and myself” – and

guide them towards more love and compassion. This gives them a new way of

being, of relating themselves internally – they can get what they want, achieve

their goals, become self-realized and have the personal power of being willing

to know themselves.

You use the Integrative Powers and move into the Integration Adventure when

you feel you know the body/mind pieces.

They key questions are:

• What would create the most integration, transformation and healing for my

client right now?

• What would create the most healing, empowering relationship with this

piece of the body/mind inside of them?

Integrative Power #1 - Clarity

This a foundational integrative power.

If you don’t have clarity, you can’t move into any other integrative power.

Clarity means:

• Knowing where the body/mind piece is

• Knowing who the the body/mind piece is

• Knowing what it wants, what its purpose is

• Knowing what part it is playing in the client’s greater vision for themselves

That clarity sometimes alone is enough; clarity can set you free!

Get clear on desires -> core and accompanying goals -> five senses -> CLARITY!

That process can give so much information and clarity!

But the coach also needs clarity. You want to start off sessions with clarity! And

you will learn to feel it energetically when the client has reached their own

clarity. However, oftentimes clarity isn’t enough. Just knowing why is almost

never enough to create genuine transformation, but it is an excellent

beginning! It is the foundation on which all the other integrative powers can

function.

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 8

Integrative Power #2 - Acceptance

This is the second foundational integrative power. It is recommended that you

always use clarity and acceptance to approach all pieces in the body/mind.

The most effective transformation sits on acceptance. Sometimes acceptance is

all that is needed. When you start from a place of deep acceptance, you set the

stage for the most powerful transformation.

If you are not centered in acceptance when you approach a piece of the

body/mind, you are subtly actually going to war with that piece. If you come

from a place of acceptance, from a bigger, broader space in your heart and

consciousness, you are setting yourself up for a genuine relationship and

genuine transformation. This is true for both outer and inner relationships.

The inner environment is based on acceptance.

Key questions:

• Can you accept this piece of your body/mind?

• Is there any space, any piece of you, that can accept this specific piece of the

body/mind that we are working on?

• Where is that space inside of you, where do you feel that?

• Can you sit from that space and accept this piece of your body/mind?

If your client can’t accept it, then you can work in other ways and with other

integrative powers, but you always want to invite them into acceptance.

If your inner relationships are dominated by non-acceptance, there’s no room

for transformation. So you want to invite your clients into greater acceptance,

really teaching and training them to ground themselves into the part of them

that does accept, that can accept.

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 9

The first two Integrative Powers are foundational and the three following ones

are optional, but it is recommended that you explore all of them in your

coaching and practicums.

Integrative Power #3 - Empowering a Supportive Piece of the Body/Mind

You use this Integrative Power when you sense that your client would be

supported by focusing on a part of them can care for another piece of the

body/mind and make better choices, and that they can switch the focus to this

supportive part.

They will have fear and blocked parts, but ALSO a supportive part that they can

anchor into.

Example:

• Inner child AND the sensual woman

• Hardness in the heart AND love and aliveness

Key questions:

• Is there any part of you that, or what part of you could take care of this other

piece of you?

• What part of you could get you what you want?

• Can you describe what it feels like inside of this place that can take care of

you?

You empower the supportive piece by bringing your client’s attention to it.

You use the same revealing and exploratory questions:

• What kind of sensation do you feel?

• Where do you feel it inside your body?

• And to really further the empowerment – have your client drop into it and

become their supportive piece and give it a voice. This gives the experience

that they have that part, and they can make decisions from that space.

Page 10: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 10

You are looking for a piece of your client’s body/mind that can support the part

of them that has the power to care for them but also has the same desire.

If there isn’t a supportive piece, then move onto another integrative power. But

now you have much more information about your client and know the extent

of the collapse of their body/mind such that they don't have an alternative

resource.

Lasering tools and blueprinting tools can be used to subtly build that

supportive part of themselves.

Integrative Power #4 - Creating a Nourishing Relationship

Whatever body/mind piece you have uncovered that is creating pain or

suffering in different ways, you want to be able to create a nourishing

relationship to it. You want to call forth in your client a part of them that can

relate to that piece of their body/mind in a nourishing way, and have a

conversation with it and talk to themselves in a nourishing way.

For example: being sick of being traumatized, shaming and blaming it!

Recenter into your compassion, because your compassion can create a

nourishing relationship to the piece of the body/mind that is causing suffering.

Occasionally, you need boundaries and to say no. But even in these moments,

you need to have a nourishing relationship.

Key aspects:

1. Have a conversation and create a dialogue with the body/mind piece you’ve

uncovered.

2. Offer it emotional support, love and presence.

3. Hold it from a nourishing piece of you and nourish that piece of you by

connecting and relating to it.

4. Guide them to find a piece of themselves that can talk to the suffering part

of themselves.

Page 11: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 11

Key questions:

• What part of you can love this piece of you?

• What part of you can have compassion for this piece of you?

• What part can understand this piece of you?

You are not crazy – you are talking to a living piece inside of you.

You know by now that it is better to create a nourishing relationship to the

pain, suffering, etc., because the more you disconnect and push it away, the

more it locks in. Instead, you want to integrate it and rewire it into nourishment

and love.

Integrative Power #5 - Need Fulfilment

When people have deep, unmet needs, they go into habituated programming

to try to get them met on the outside. But because they have this deep inner

need, it never feels truly fulfilling. So in this integrative power, you want to find

out the core need of the original piece of the body/mind.

Key question:

• What do you need?

Often, it’s love, acceptance, attention, support or being listened to.

How do you work with this?

By giving yourself exactly what you need. When you find the original part of

your body/mind that, for example, needs attention, you find another part of you

that can always give it attention. So in your coaching, you want to guide your

client to find out what the part needs and what part can meet that need.

It is a process to figure out exactly what you need, and you will empower your

clients to realize that they have all they need inside of them. You are your own

universe, so you want to learn to source your deepest and greatest needs from

within.

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 12

Things you might encounter in a client through this process:

The piece of the body/mind wants love and you start giving it love, but it’s

rejecting it because they want it from their dad, for example. Then part of

maturing and evolving is having a conversation with that piece of the body/

mind and really letting it know that nobody externally is going to give you what

you need, and you can’t rely on that.

And part of offering yourself what you need is waking up to the fact that the

more you give yourself what you need, the more that you can actively have

external needs and get them responsibly fulfilled.

True fulfilment comes from yourself or the divine, and then the external world

can give it as well.

In sex, love and relationship coaching, it is very important to learn to source

from within when it comes to feeling good and in order to live an integrated,

evolved and fulfilled life. You will help your clients see this through the

Integrative Power process.

The Coaching Core: Part Nine

Meta Mapping

After you have completed the Integration Adventure, lasering tools and/or the

blueprinting tools, you are going to move into the next stage of the coaching

core, and you wind down the session by integrating and setting up the next

steps.

The first part of the coaching core that starts the completion of the session is

called Meta Mapping.

You have taken your client through a deep process, so it’s really good to stop

and assess. Meta Mapping means that you agree with your client on the meta

map on what is going on with their desire.

You stop, assess and reflect on what you both have learned together.

Page 13: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 13

At this point, you can offer:

• Reflections and perspective and check in with your client to see if your words

feel true to them

• Let them agree or disagree

• This gives you both clarity and perspective on the session and the future

• Compliments and acknowledgements for the work they just did

• An overview of the process you have witnessed so far

You use this part to set yourself up for the next part of the coaching core, as the

deeper purpose of Meta Mapping is to agree on what you are seeing in the

session so you can create the action steps that fit in with what is going on

inside of the client.

The Coaching Core: Part Ten

Laying out clear steps to achieve the goal

The next part is to agree on clear steps outside of the session that are going to

help them achieve their goal.

If you did this at the beginning of the session, the goal can be superficial, so it’s

better to do this at the end.

Clear steps involve:

• The inner work to clear the way to make it possible to get to the goal

• The outer steps to create it

You don’t want to have too many inner or outer steps for your client to be

addressing. The whole session sets you up to give your client very intelligent

and targeted inner and outer goals.

The Coaching Core process will help you understand which inner and outer

action steps to take in between sessions and get closer to helping them

Page 14: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

achieve their goals. This is the hallmark of this coaching process, that you work

with the unconscious and subconscious mind, you work the primal brain and

the limbic system – you’re exploring them both in the tools and the

conversation, and then you’re creating action steps that address both the inner

work and the external action steps.

Almost every goal needs both inner and outer actions, and that’s what is so

empowering about our coaching: that we address both.

The Coaching Core: Part Eleven

Empowering the Supportive Identity

As you’ve learned in Trimester One, it is important to adopt an identity that

supports you in the direction you want to go.

A lot of people know the action steps but default back to the inner child reality

or the part that is terrified. So you really want to empower the identity in them

that is super excited to take action.

Key questions:

• What identity inside of you will allow you to take these action steps?

• What part of you is, or who would you need to be in order to be successful in

taking these action steps?

• Who inside you is inspired and excited to take action?

You use the same revealing and exploratory questions:

• Where do you feel that in your body?

• What sensations are associated with it?

• Give it a name! Identities have names!

Let your client feel that identity inside of their body and breath into it and

anchor it in their nervous system. The way that you do that is by inviting them

Copyright 2018, Truth and Love Coaching, LLC - All Rights Reserved.

Page 15: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 15

to feel that identity inside of them and then inviting them to breathe and allow

the identity to become more powerful.

You train your client, before they take action steps, to drop into that identity.

Then they take action from that empowered identity, which supports them to

take actions outside the sessions to get even bigger and stronger results and

shift the core identity at the same time. This facilitates them actually getting

what they want and getting closer to their goal.

The Coaching Core: Part Twelve

Daily Focus, Daily Practice, Daily Action

The objective of the Integrative Adventure is to create a relationship to the

body/mind pieces that are uncovered that are based in love, compassion,

understanding, communication and greater integration. Everything is held,

understood and accepted.

Daily Focus

What are they going to focus on? Whatever focus will most support them in

their growth and development towards achieving their goal. A focus is an

internal focus, something you do internally.

Encourage focus on, for example:

• Empowering identity

• Listening to the inner child’s need and meeting them

• Compassionately holding their own trauma

Daily Practice

Something that they can practice daily or less depending on their schedule

and ability to commit before you see them next will help them stabilize the

session, especially on the primal level.

The downfall of coaching and talk therapy is that when people have

breakthroughs, the primal brain is actually way stronger than that, and it has a

Page 16: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 16

tendency to go back to the old way of being. So that’s why you give your client

a practice that helps keep the primal brain in alignment with their

transformation and goals and the work that you are doing.

It comes mostly from the blueprinting that you will learn, for example:

• Breathwork practice

• Breast massage

• Pelvic breathing

• Microcosmic orbit

• Breathwork to connect genitals and heart

Giving a daily practice is a real art and you will get better and better at it!

Some coaching niches are going to lend themselves more to daily practices:

• Pleasure

• Orgasm

• Shame

• Trauma

Daily Action

A daily action is designed to move your client towards their goal. A practice is

similar to an action, but a practice is really designed to stabilize the experience

in the primal brain and a daily action is designed to move them towards their

goal.

For example:

• Safe space to talk about their desires with their partner

• Mirror work

• Buying a sex toy

Daily actions are especially relevant for:

• Dating in a healthy way

• Having better sex and desire in a relationship

• Having excellent communication in a marriage

The Coaching Core: Part Thirteen

Setting Up Accountability

This part is for how your client is going to stay accountable to what they just

committed to.

Accountability examples:

• They can email you and let you know that they have done compared to what

they said they would do

• You can clearly tell them that you will ask them what they have done at the

beginning the next session

• Have your assistant follow up with them

• If you do group coaching – make them post about it or do celebrations on the

group call.

You get to figure out what suits you and your coaching style and niche, but you

really want a system for keeping them accountable. You can design it in many

different ways.

The Coaching Core: Part Fourteen

Favorite Moments and Gratitudes

This it the end of the coaching session, and you can wrap up your session by

asking your client to give you their two favourite moments:

• What made the biggest impact on you?

• What do you remember the most?

• What was your “A-ha!” moment or breakthrough?

Then ask them about two things that they are grateful for.

Page 18: COACHING CORE GUIDE - Layla MartinT2M2 Coaching Core Guide 4 With this information, you can create a body map of all the objections and fears of the primal brain and limbic system

T2M2 Coaching Core Guide 18

And this is optional, but you can also do the same and share your favourite

moments and gratitudes with your client. It can humanize you and give space

for your experience as well, it helps you to be vulnerable and your client will see

that you are tracking and noticing them.

And gratitudes help send your clients off in a good space. Gratitude really helps

with keeping the transformation! It is also soothing, if they went through

something intense.

Remember: celebrations at the beginning and gratitudes at the end!

Also, what is excellent to do at the end after this is to book them for the next

session right then, even if they paid for a package. If this is at the end of the

package, then begin talking about the future and discuss whether you will

continue working together.
