o 1971: wild horses were found on 850,000 acres of BLM land in Colorado. o Today: wild horses exist on just 400,000 acres. o Net loss: 450,000 acres. o Source: BLM

o 812 wild horses allowed to graze on 400,000 acres (Source: BLM) o 49,048 cow/calf pairs (annual equivalent) allowed to graze on 7.8 million acres of
BLM land in Colorado. (Source: BLM) o 588,576 Animal Unit Months (AUMs) forage for livestock vs. 9,744 AUMs for wild
