This is to inform you that you have been nominated for the Societyof Women Engineers Student Section's Outstanding Woman Engineering StudentAward for Class . This is a program which has'begun just this year asan effort to encourage outstanding performance by women engineering stu-dents. You were nominated by your engineering department to compete with

Class of other engineering departments for this honor.

Enclosed is an information form which I hope you will take sometime to complete and return to us by March 9. The Award recipients willbe chosen by a selection committee which consists of Deans, NCSU Facultymembers, representatives from the North Carolina Professional Section ofthe Society of Women Engineers, and representatives from various companiesin the engineering industry.

The Award will consist of a check for $100.00 and a certificate, andwill be presented on April 10 at the Society of Women Engineer's AnnualAwards Banquet. Z

The banquet will be held at the Mission Valley Inn Convention Centerand begins with a cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m. A buffet dinner will beserved at 7:00 and the presentations will begin promptly after dinner.Dress is semi-formal and you are encouraged to invite a date, family,and/or friends to attend. There will be a moderate cost to any guestsyou invite. ‘

A preliminary RSVP is enclosed. Please return it as soon as possibleto advise us of your participation. Please indicate the number of guestsyou will have attending for our planning but note that you may changethis up to 3 weeks before the banquet.
