NEWS UPDATE www.resort-solutions.co.uk WINTER 2013 Once again we hope you are all well and have enjoyed your holidays at Playa Flores this year. Your committee together with Resort Solutions and the team on- site have all been working together to try to obtain some financial security for Club Playa Flores. Most of you know that balancing the books is of paramount importance. The Club has been presented with a number of opportunities since CLC World Resorts & Hotels acquired Resort Solutions at the beginning of the year. Not just in the expertise and resources that have been offered but in financial terms as well. CLC World have demonstrated their support by offering to take ownership of a significant number of weeks of our inventory, for which they will pay the maintenance fees and which will underwrite our budget for 2014. CLC World’s approach to the hospitality industry has had an immense impact on resorts all over the world. They are a very professional and highly experienced company within all aspects of the timeshare business. If you are approached by anyone from their sales and marketing team, we as a committee have endorsed CLC World with a marketing contract. I must add that anyone who has already converted to Aroma Spice need not worry, their agreements are still valid. If CLC World contact you they have options that could cater for a wide range of existing and new owners. It is that time of the year for the annual maintenance fees and unfortunately, even with the considerable support of CLC World, we need to increase fees by 5%. This is partly due to a change in exchange rates so this is unavoidable. I would like to express our gratitude to Maria and her team at the resort. Maria has managed to keep the resort looking well-kept and maintained on the very tight budget we have set for her. Thank you Maria. We have taken a decision not to run the golf tournament in 2014; primarily this was because so few people registered interest but also the expense of putting the tournament on could be used for a better purpose. Once again we hope you are all well and have enjoyed your holidays at Playa Flores this year.

The summer period has been busy as usual and the atmosphere on the resort has been positive and cheery. It has been a pleasure to see an increasing number of owners once again choose to spend their summer holiday at the Club. Your Chairman has visited Playa Flores twice to see how things were going at the Club first hand.

Che has been very busy in the resort’s bar during the summer despite a growing number of owners using the kitchen facilities in the apartments to prepare the own meals.

However those owners that have been using the bar have given some great feedback about the choice and quality of the food and the service offered in general. Che has an extensive menu and there is something there to satisfy all customers’ tastes.

In previous years there has been a successful golf tournament held amongst Playa Flores owners and friends. Disappointingly there will be no tournament in 2014 due to the lack of interest registered with RSL.

For many owners this was the opportunity to take an extra winter break at Playa Flores; however this does not have to change. RSL have put in place some very good rental offers for owners to visit the Club during the winter months. I hope that you will take advantage of the significantly cheaper flights and enjoy an extra week at the Club.

I am very pleased to inform all members that the Club has once again been awarded the Resort Hospitality Award by RCI for 2013. This award is based on the high ratings given by RCI guests with regards to the check-in/out and hospitality services. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and effort, as well as Resort Solutions for their contribution in obtaining these fantastic results.

I look forward to seeing you all in very near future.

Knowing your ownership optionsBecoming a timeshare owner at a resort Solutions (rSL) managed resort was just the beginning of your exciting holiday future. Yet there is so much more available as Brad revell, rSL managing director, explains.

“When I speak with owners at AGMs and on my regular resort visits, I am often struck by how many return to their own resort for holidays year after year.

Of course, familiarity is very important. After so many visits, they know every aspect - from the on-site team to their fellow owners who also return each year. And of course, the resorts are great!

But there are other features of timeshare ownership that you

may have forgotten, or are not aware of, so here are just some of the options available to you.

Timeshare exchange servicesThe opportunity to exchange your timeshare week for another at one of thousands of resorts around the world has always been an exciting feature of timeshare ownership.

Timeshare exchange has been available for over 40 years and is

still one of the best ways to enjoy new and exciting destinations – safe in the knowledge that your holiday accommodation will be of a high standard and in a great location.

Today, timeshare exchange is available not only in traditional holiday destinations throughout Europe and the U.S. but also in new locations in China, India, Thailand and South America.

As a timeshare owner at an RSL managed resort you can

use the exchange services of RCI (RCI.com), the world’s largest timeshare exchange provider, or Dial An Exchange (Dialanexchange.com) which is growing in popularity every year.

These companies not only offer timeshare exchange but also rentals, bonus weeks, extra holidays and even cruise holidays so if you have let your membership lapse, it might be a good time to find out what is now available.

Resort Solutions exchangeOver the years, your holiday requirements will have changed. Summer holiday or half-term weeks are no longer essential and you might prefer quieter periods.

If you still want to visit your resort but are interested in holidaying at a different time of year, you can through Resort Solutions.

For a great value fee of just £50 per transaction, you can exchange your week for another at your own resort in the same apartment type, subject to availability.

And if you would like to exchange your ownership on a permanent basis, this is also possible.

If you own week 31, for example, but would prefer to holiday in week 23 every year, or if you own a two-bedroom but now just need a one-bedroom, RSL has made it possible, subject to availability.

There are some costs associated with this service and RSL charges from just £70 to cover the administration costs involved with transferring the ownership. However, this is a great opportunity to update your ownership to suit your holiday needs today.

So if you fancy a change of location, want to try somewhere new, need to holiday at a different

time of year or celebrate a special occasion with that once in a lifetime holiday, then it is a good time to look into the exchange opportunities available to you.

RentalsIf you can’t travel to your week next year and exchange is not a suitable option, have you thought about renting out your week?

Resort Solutions offers a rental service to owners and - while there is no guarantee of success – if successful you will receive a refund of any rental income achieved less a small commission to cover RSL’s costs.

This also means that if you’d like to enjoy an extra holiday at any of the 12 RSL managed resorts you can take advantage of some great rental opportunities.

All the apartments and lodges offer comfortable self-catering accommodation, a range of on-site facilities and are close to local amenities.

Budget airline Norwegian announces new Gatwick routes

The Nordic carrier has launched 12 routes out of Gatwick to destinations in southern Europe and the Adriatic. It has based three aircraft at the airport, allowing for faster turn-around times and more frequent services.

Direct flight options will include regular services to Lanzarote, Malaga and the Portuguese sunspot of Faro, in the Algarve. There is also a service into Nice for the sun - or access to the ski slopes during the winter months.

These new routes give even more choice to

owners looking for great value flights to their resort destinations.

How to pay your invoice

Resort Solutions can assist owners in paying their maintenance fees by spreading their payments by using direct debit. There is a small administration fee of 5 per cent taken in the first instalment for every year you elect to pay by this method. Simply return the

completed direct debit mandate enclosed with your newsletter.

Once the direct debit is in place, you will not need to worry about your maintenance fees again. Your completed mandate will be carried over from one year to the next so there is no need

to cancel and renew at the end of the year. You will be notified of your annual maintenance fee as usual in December.
