CLUB DE RUGBY ROUGE ET OR OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT 1. IDENTIFICATION Head Coach, Women’s Rugby Supervisor: President, Administrative Board, Club de Rugby R&O Part-time position 2. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Head Coach is responsible for the coordination of the activities of their sport, with the support of the coordination of Department of Varsity Athletics of Université Laval and in harmony with: The mission of the University, The mission of the Sport activities service (Service des activités sportives-S.A.S.), The mission and vision of the « Rouge et Or » Varsity clubs, The objectives transmitted by the Club Executive through their designated club representative. 3. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS 3.1 « Administrative » Participate at meetings of the Club executive and supervise/apply decisions relevant to their competencies and follow up on them; Participate in fund raising activities organised by the club and involve the student-athletes when necessary. Participate in activities organised by the SAS and attended by coaches: meetings, courses, individual meetings and other associated and essential activities; 3.2 « Coaching » Support, guide and advise the student-athletes in order to promote the personal development and attain their athletic and academic objectives; Support the student-athletes during competitions on and off campus by assuring their safety and their ethical conduct; Coach the team’s student-athletes in a competent and professional manner in order to meet the objectives of excellence and performance of the « Rouge et Or » program; Participate in the process of hiring, supervising and evaluating the work of Assistant Coaches in order to assure a coherent and quality service; Participate in the recruitment of student-athletes within and without the university in order to assure the perpetuity and quality of the athletes who must respond to the expectations of the program. Select the student-athletes who will become part of the team by using a fair and transparent process of selection in collaboration with the Assistant Coaches.

3.3 « Professionalism »3.3.1 Act as a reference and resource person at the local, national or international levels by participating in the following forms of activity:Involvement in the relevant sport organisation,Involvement in the management of the league,

Involvement in the NCCP,Presentations or conferences given to colleagues at all levels,Publishing of articles, reports, books and other material,Presences as a Guest Coach.

3.4 « Regional Development »Assure constant communication with the regional media in order to support the development of the sport;Collaborate and/or participate actively in the vertical development of the region;Represent the « Rouge et Or » and the sport during activities such as :sports camps, clinics, workshops whenever the occasion presents itself.Act as a spokesperson for selected, authorised and representative works of charity.3.5 « Teaching »A contractual position in the Department of Physical Education can be made available for the course on the sport concerned. The remuneration for this work does not come from the club.

3.6 « Connected tasks »Carry out all tasks corresponding to the coach’s competencies when required.

4. MINIMAL REQUIREMENTSAcademic : Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or Kinesiology. This background can be compensated for by relevant experience of a total of 5 years;NCCP : Certified Level 3 or equivalent. This qualification may be by an given as an attestation from the Provincial Sport Organisation;Experience : 2 years relevant experience at the college level or the equivalent ou,4 years’ experience as an assistant-coach at the university level;Other : Experience and involvement as a Resource Person for clinics, camps, etc. A record of notable performance in competition at the provincial level;Possess an excellent quality of spoken and written French. A very good knowledge of spoken and written English would be a valuable asset.5. 6. CLASSIFICATION AND REMUNERATIONThe classification and remuneration of coaches is determined in function of the criteria lionked to academic training, professional experience as well as the level of performance attained during the person’s career as a sport coach. The classification the salary awarded.

PLEASE NOTE : Even though the position is posted as Part-Time, the period from August 15 to November 15 is the most intense in terms of involvement.
