Southwell Rugby Club Rugby World Cup comes to England! This month England hosts the Rugby World Cup when the 20 best teams in the world will be competing for the Webb Ellis trophy, currently held by New Zealand. To help celebrate this four-yearly festival of rugby, Southwell Rugby Club has organised a programme of activities which includes a host of live games that will be shown on the big screens in the clubhouse, together with all the club’s own home fixtures during the RWC period, as well as other events including a golf tournament and a special Run with the Ball Family Fun Day. Southwell is a community rugby club that caters for players of all ages and abilities as well as providing spectators and parents with a spacious and modern clubhouse to retreat to for a drink and a bite to eat. If you would like to get involved as a player, or just on a social basis, please drop into the clubhouse on Park Lane where we would be delighted to see you! Come and join us! Run with the Ball Family Fun Day Join in the fun on Saturday 26 September when boys and girls from 5 - 11 have the chance to experience the thrill of rugby. Watch the U6s - U12s play exhibition games - then have a go at tag rugby yourself! All players receive a free hot dog, soft drink and the first 100 also get a free Rugby World Cup goody bag. Games take place from 11:30am – 2.30pm and other attractions include a bouncy castle, children’s entertainer, hog roast and RWC games screened live in the clubhouse.
