Pre-Setup – MethodologyCenter Application VM

Before you can run a MethodologyCenter test, you must have a MethodologyCenter VM up

and running and accessible to the network. To set it up, follow these steps:

Log on to your domain at temeva.com.

Navigate to the Temeva MethodologyCenter webpage: Locate the Application Manager on the main page (the gear in the upper right corner), and choose MethodologyCenter.

The MethodologyCenter Application VM image is on the right side of Temeva MethodologyCenter webpage.

Download the appropriate MethodologyCenter file for your environment

Deploy the image: spin up the VM on the preferred virtualization platform and make sure it has a propernetwork connection.

Recommended configuration – 2 vCPU and 4G memory or more.

When the MethodologyCenter Application VM is up, you will see it in the Available Inventory section (with an administrator authority account).

Status column: indicates the condition of MethodologyCenter Application VM.

If the MethodologyCenter Application VM is not accessible, the entire entry will be grayed out in the inventory.

Action column:

Use Instance: use this application VM; takes you to the MethodologyCenter application.

Move Location: move this instance to another location in the Available Inventory.

Update Instance: update this instance to the latest MethodologyCenter version.

When the MethodologyCenter Application VM is up and ready for use, you can quickly launch it by clicking the Launch Apps icon and selecting the location of your Talisman VM.

MethodologyCenter Test Basic Workflow

1. From the Apps menu on the main toolbar, select the MethodologyCenter app and the location of the MethodologyCenter Application VMs you want to use.

2. Choose a methodology test from Methodology Selection.

3. For each box in the topology diagram, choose the Spirent TestCenter ports you wish to use for the test

4. For each box in the topology diagram, configure additional items, such as endpoints, etc.

5. Under the topology diagram in the center of the page, configure additional properties for the test

6. (Optionally) save the test

7. Execute the test

8. Observer real-time feedback about what the test is doing, as well as basic results as they become available.

9. When the test is finished, look at the high-level result for the test, either Pass (P), or Fail (F).

10. Click View Report to see a detailed test report.

11. (Optionally) save the report in alternate formats, such as PDF, DOCX, or XSLX.

Methodology Result – Report

▪ An overall verdict is noted as Pass or Fail

▪ Summary Results

▪ Iteration summary, dimension verdict, configuration and test criteria summary are available, if the test finished gracefully. If the test is aborted, these results are not available.

▪ Iteration Results

▪ Detailed results of each iteration.

▪ Actual load value percentile distribution table (includes values from all agents).

▪ Charts and data for (up to) the five worst performing MethodologyCenter agents.

▪ Runtime Results

▪ Runtime results from the test execution page.

▪ Tables for (up to) the five worst performing MethodologyCenter agents and the result verdict for each iteration.

▪ Configuration

▪ Summary of the test configuration and the templates used.
