This is the first of two appointments we’ll have together. Trying to teach you everything you would want to know about SC and glamour is just way too much, so today we’re going to focus on skin care, and we’ll do a 5 minute face and then set up a time to pamper you w a MINERAL makeover.  

At your mineral makeover, I’m going to teach you all the fun tips about color and application.  If you are not color girls its okay we can focus on skin care supplements.

Oil Free Eye Makeup RemoverPut oil-free eye make up remover on one cotton pad.The first product we’ll use is one of our best-selling products, oil-free eye make up remover. Anyone currently use this product? What do you love about it? It removes all eye make up, even waterproof mascara easily and it also conditions eyelashes. It’s safe for contact lens wearers, and leaves no greasy residue.

First of all, it’s important to use a premium product, customized for your skin care needs.  Can you guess what is NOT a premium skin care product—4-letter word beginning with ‘s’?  That’s right...soap. Soap belongs in one place on your body—and that’s under your arms!Secondly, it’s important to use all the same brand of skin care. Mixing and matching is like waging ingredient warfare on your face. Think of it like this. If you were going to bake a cake for a very special occasion, would you take out 5 different recipes and choose one ingredient from each one to put into your cake? If you did, what would happen? (wait for answers) You would have absolutely no idea of the end result, right? But that’s what we do with our face! We use a cleanser from one brand, a moisturizer from another and a freshener from yet another. Isn’t that GREAT?  OK, let’s get serious about your skin. Who knows what the 5 most important parts of a skin care routine are?(Cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturize, protect).  

*Before we begin, I just want to tell you that is always important to be gentle with your facial skin. You have 1 face to last your whole life! Use an upward, outward motion on your cheeks and downward motion on your nose. Today – we are going to neglect your

forehead. We want you to have skin that has used skin care and skin that hasn’t so you can compare the difference. At home, you would wash your forehead.

Now, let’s turn to pages 6 & 7 in your beauty book How many steps are there for ageless skin?

The first one is cleansing. You want to cleanse your skin morning and night, every day! 

• We have 2 different formulas to match your skin type: combo/oily or normal/dryIf you FAIL TO CLEANSE, it’s a CRIME!(LOL) In the morning it’s a misdemeanor, but at night, it’s a FELONY! And, I have heard that if you don’t wash your face at night, your skin ages 14 days. Now, I have absolutely no idea if that’s correct, but it’s what I‘ve heard, and the truth is, your skin does age more rapidly when you don’t wash it before bed. So do not to use your pillowcase as a washcloth it doesn't work well.

(While they are cleansing—read the following paragraph about the Cleanser)You know, it’s also very important to exfoliate regularly. How many of you sit down twice a week for 10-15 minutes with a mask of your face? Why is it that we do not exfoliate regularly? (they will usually say time) Exactly, so Mary Kay has put the exfoliater right into your cleanser! Hence the name, TIMEWISE (because it saves you TIME) 3 in 1, because your cleanser, exfoliator and freshener are all in the cleanser! Cool, huh? And it even comes in a bar for those of you who prefer. After using it for a week or so, if you think you want or need a different formula cleanser, I’ll be happy to switch it out when we have your mineral makeover *pass around the gift. (MOVE TO MICRODERMABRASION HERE IF YOU HAVE IT.)So you have just completed 3 of the 5 steps to healthy, ageless skin. (easy button if you have it.)

Mary Kay has the answer to the war on aging. It’s called Day Solution and Night Solution.  These 2 products make a world of difference.  (Hold the products while you are talking about them to romance them) 

The Day Solution has an SPF of 35, which protects your skin from damaging UV rays while botanical extracts relax expression lines like laugh lines & forehead lines.  This is a FULL SPECTRUM SPF which means it protects against UVB AND UVA rays.. (burn & age)

Go ahead and apply that to your face. This is your daytime protector.  

The Night Solution supplies a highly effective blend of vitamins—see the little beads? There are three colors and those are 3 vitamins, Vitamins A, C, and E.  

Now notice that you can’t see the beads on your tray and that is because as the serum comes out the beads break so you get fresh doses of vitamins EVERY single time you use it!!  It also it full of peptides and botanicals.  

The ingredients, over time, will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and is your nighttime corrector. 

Now, go ahead and apply the Night Solution on one elbow. In 5 minutes, we will compare elbows to see what you feel.  OK, next you apply your Moisturizer morning and night.  There are 2 formulas one for Normal/Dry and Combination/Oily.  If you think you need more hydration, we will add it at your mineral makeover.

How many of you have heard of microdermabrasion?

Options: Great! Can anyone explain what it is? OR You’ve heard of it, but aren’t quite sure what it does for you?

This is a special treat that you allow yourself twice a week.

Microdermabrasion removes all of the dead skin cells from your face. Now, the 3-n-1 cleanser removes some of the dead skin cells that dull the skin, but it’s a gentle exfoliation that you can do morning & night. Microdermabrasion is a deeper exfoliation that actually removes the top layer of skin to speed up your skin’s regeneration – reducing wrinkles.Think of 3-n-1 Cleanser as vacuuming your carpets & MDA as deep steam-cleaning your carpets. So…you only use it 2x a week.The first step is the Refine step. Our MDA has the same aluminum oxide crystals found at a Dermatologist’s office. The only difference is they use a machine on your face & you use your

hands. Use a lot of water with this first step. Be sure to rinse off all of the crystals. Remember: avoid your forehead.

The 2nd step is the Replenish step. It’s the pink puddle on your tray. This step is fresh vitamins & nutrients for that new layer of skin you’ve just revealed. If you use MDA in the daytime, you’ll want to be sure to wear sunscreen! Don’t want to burn that new layer of skin!

Speaking of sunscreen…let’s turn back to pages 6&7.

Firming Eye Cream. Let’s finish our skin care regimen with Timewise Firming Eye Cream. Does anyone know why you need a product specifically designed for the skin around your eyes?The skin under the eye is very thin and delicate with very few oil glands. Go ahead and stipple this product with your ring finger under your eye and out in the area where we start to see crow’s feet.

May want to briefly talk about other eye creams.

Sometimes people ask me whats the difference between all the lines and I like to compare it to bras :) Whats the first bra you wear? *A training bra thats right! And how much support does the training bra give? Not a whole lot right but it gets us in the habit of wearing one. Thats kind of like our botanicals line bc there isn’t age fighting benefits but it gets you in the habit of using products and its also made for those of us with overly sensitive skin. The next kind of bra is a sports bra and what does that do? *It supports us and keeps us in place ;) Thats the miracle set! It prevents from future damage and also helps fight fine line and wrinkles. The next bra is the sexy push up bra. And thats our Repair Set. This line lifts, supports, firms. It does it all baby! So it just depends on what kind of support you are looking for ;)

Okay, now let’s talk about foundation products!

Foundation Primer.

Before any kind of foundation, everyone needs a great foundation primer. Go ahead and take your fingers and smooth your primer on your face – remember…we are neglecting the forehead. (as they are applying, go over the benefits below) I always tease that this is like my spackel :)

· Perfects skin while it enhances foundation benefits and extends wear.· Oil absorbing and light diffusing for skin perfecting benefits· Broad spectrum spf 15· Reduces appearance of pores, fine lines, wrinkles and other skin imperfections.

Finally, you must protect your skin every day by using foundation—every single day! This is the product that protects your skin from the environment. Think of it this way, if you are driving through town and you see two houses side by side, both 25 years old. One is painted and one is not. Which one looks better?  Exactly, because the paint protects the wood from the environment. Think of your foundation the same way. 

We have 6 different types of foundation and a color that matches every woman’s skin...so there IS one that is right for you!   Flip through the foundation pictures and quickly talk about each one. End with the one that you will be using at the party)

Today, were going to be trying our _________________. You’ll love how your skin feels when you use it!  I LOVE this foundation because it is SO light on your face, you can’t even tell you have anything on.You can always use your fingertips, a sponge, or a foundation brush to apply, today we’re going to use _____________.  If you find that it is too light or dark or you need a different undertone, make a note on the back of your profile card, and I’ll be happy to change it during your private consultation.  I also think you sometimes have to wear a foundation for a few days in all different lights to be sure its right for you.) If needed, we can always switch it out at your mineral makeover.OK now go ahead and apply your foundation. Michaela’s Tip for foundation application:Liquid: start in the middle of your face and work out bc you want the least amount of product to be on the outerpart of your face. Also the brush adds greater coverage when you stipple it in the areas that need more coverage ex a pimple or age spot.

Mineral: place a little bit on the brush, light layers give better coverage than one thick one. Tap the excess off of the brush and go in circular motions to give the coverage you desire. CC Cream: apply like you would a moisturizer and add more to areas that you want more coverage. This is my go to foundation for spring and summer, when I’m on the go and when I’m headed to the gym and just want a little something.

It’s now a good time to stop and just FEEL your face. How does your skin feel to the touch? Look in the mirror. Anyone notice any difference in how it looks or feels from one side to the other?

Referrals. (Have the referral sheets in this sleeve)We are going to take a quick break. Do you ladies know anyone that is overworked, under pampered and could use a little appreciation gift? This is what I call my “Gift of Friendship” offer! I love this program! How it works is you put down a woman you know is over worked, under pampered and could use a special gift and I’m going to gift them with a $10 gift certificate and a complimentary facial lesson. I text them and if they set up their special time with me then you get what in that box. You have 3 minutes to write down as many names and phone #s as you can of those women.If you write someone down, text them that your MK girl might be sending her a text bc you got her a gift. If she says omg I’m going to kill you for giving out my number then tell me and I’ll cross her off but women LOVE this. Nobody gets ‘just bc gifts” anymore and they feel special that you thought of them so! Ready, set, go?

Let’s move on to our “fast & fabulous look”. While this isn’t going to be NEARLY enough color if you’re a glamour girl, it will get you home safely! And if you don’t normally wear a lot of color, no worries – this is very minimal! I would love to do color with all of you now, but we’d be here all night! Come to an upcoming color event OR we’ll do your color look when you are the hostess at your own party just like we are going to do here with our awesome hostess, ________________!!At this point, you can be instructing your hostess with her look with the brushes. As you are doing the colors with her, refer the others to their colors and give the quick instructions below. Keep talking about THEIR mineral makeover and the “extras” that they get ie. eyeliner, lip liner, eye primer, etc. (whatever you use extra)

Cream Cheek Color.(Scrape a little in trays with spatula. Sheer Bliss for Ivory/beige skin. Cranberry for dark beige/bronze skin.)Take your finger and place a few dots of this color over your cheekbone from apple to hairline. You don’t need a lot. Then blend.Cream Eye Color.

Scrape a little in trays with spatula. (violet storm is a great color on most people) Take your finger and smooth this color all over your eye lid, from your lash line up to just above the crease. You only need a little.Mascara.You can use either ultimate or lash love mascara.

Now finish the look with the lip gloss (and lipstick with the hostess)OK it is compliment time!!!!!! Tell me how your skin feels and what you like best about your makeover. Share compliments, too.

Clean up table a bit and get the Set Sheets out that you use.
