Goals
•Identify characteristics of effective math instruction•Explain the value of 21st century skills and technology in education.•Identify technology tools that can be used in high school math courses to enhance instruction.•Give examples of how technology can be used in math lessons.•Create a teacher blog.•Create a math lesson incorporating 21st century skills and technology.

1. Why is it important to incorporate 21st century skills and technology in education?2. What is interactive instruction?3. What are some technology tools that can support interactive instruction?4. The Issue
"Our nation's graduating high school class of 2011 had a 32 percent proficiency rate in math and a 31 percent proficiency rate in reading, leaving many to question whether schools are adequately preparing students for the 21st century global economy."
"U.S. students fall behind 31 countries in math proficiency" according to a recent study.
