An effective CO2 purification for free atmosphere.

Tamara Tulaikova, Svetlana Amirova, Alexandre Michtchenko

in press 02/2014;

ABSTRACT Here an approach for

incorporating the possibility of step by step CO2 purification in local areas of the free atmosphere is proposed. The method

is comprised of the two key stages. The first stage is the spraying of alkaline compounds, such as KOH, Na2CO3, etc.,

inside the cloud via an airplane to increase the pH in cloud medium. The alkaline reagents will increase the solubility of СО2 in water, but rain droplets will then

become saturated by atmospheric CO2 during their falling. The second stage is to apply precipitation enhancement for

carbon transport from the atmosphere to soil and to ground water. Also, special acoustic devices can be applied in order to

accelerate the coalescence of water droplets in cloud.

“Prof. Sachs, you mentioned a developing method of capturing carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and burying them, what do you think about this process, is it feasible for

reducing green house emissions' impact? What are other efficient alternatives?”

We  s%ll  need  to  understand  a   lot  more  about  climate   change  rela%ve  to  what  we   do  now.  So  efforts  to  study  climate  change  at   local,  regional   and  global  scale   should  be   increased.  Then,  the  topic  should  be  made  more  popular  in  a   lucid  way.   It  is  important  for  the  masses  to  know  how  at  the  individual   level  what   they  do  impacts  the   climate   as  a  whole.   Simple  things  done  diligently  bear  the  poten%al  of  change  more  than  an  abrupt  forced  adapta%on.

I  suppose  the  technical  methods  should  be  used  widely.  please  read  The  book,  “The  effec%ve  possibility  for  atmosphere  CO2  purifica%on”.  For  more  info,  go  to  hGps://www.researchgate.net/publica%on/259974088_An_effec%ve_CO2_purifica%on_for_free_atmosphere

Read  materials   of   conferences   for   human   adapta%on   to   climate   change,   I   know   such  conference  was  in  Germany  1-‐2  years  ago.   The   next  way  in  poli%cal  regula%on  as  Kyoto  protocol  and  etc.  The  next  possibility  is  other  technical  methods  to  improve  each  factory,  car,  etc.  for  minimiza%on  the  greenhouse  gases  output.

Change  Behavior.   To  me   the   answer  seems  very  clear.  The  current  economic  system  does  not   support   reasonably  sustainable  ways  of   living;  moreover,   popula%on  is  growing   and  previously  developing  countries  are  using  up  resources  as  the  "western  world"  at  an  ever  increasing  pace.   So  no  maGer  what   technological   solu%ons  we   come  up  with,   these  will  not  be  system-‐wide  solu%ons.  IMO,  one  key  factor  to  bound  climate  change  as  well  as  deal  with  limita%ons  of  energy  and  resources,  we  need  to  change  behavior  through  deciding  for  new   ways  we   would   like   to  live   together   as  humans,  on  an  economic,   social,   and  finally  long  term  sustainable,  environmentally  friendly  way.

Any   technological   solu%on  alone   will   definitely   not   solve   the   problem  without  a   dras%c  change  in  the  rules  shaping  how  we  live.

Think   globally,   Act   locally   is   famous   strategy   for   climate   change.   Two   things   are  recommended  in  this  regard:  Adapta%on  and  Mi%ga%on.

The photos in this collage were obtained from the Internet. This is a resource material intended for my college students under the teacher education program. One of their courses, General Education Home Economics and Livelihood Education/Entrepreneurship, includes the topic ‘Sustainable development of the human well-being.’ Sustainable development has three

components - economic, social, and environment. Climate change is one of the issues being addressed by sustainable development.

As our planet gets warmer, there will be extreme weather conditions, more flooding, changes in plant cycles and animal migration patterns, rise of sea level, and gradual destruction of corals due to acidification. These changes will also affect

peoples’ lives and livelihood activities. Thus, the global community is now finding ways to halt climate change by finding renewable energy sources, collaboration, and through education.

A final project for:
