It’s easy to have an opportunity topedal away with one of the bikes. Allyou have to do is sign up ClevelandApple Festival.
The rules are:Individuals may only enter the
contest once. More than one entryper person will result in forfeiture ofeligibility.
Participants must purchase anentry ticket to the Cleveland AppleFestival at the gate. Paid employeesof the Apple Festival and TrailheadBicycle Co. are ineligible to partici-pate in the contest.
Winners must be present at draw-ing to accept prizes. If an individualwhose entry form is drawnannounced, a subsequent drawingwill be held until the prize is award-ed.
Trailhead Bicycle Co. reserves theright to award an alternative prizebicycle of equal or greater value attheir sole discretion.

Girls from infant to age 12 will be competingSunday, Oct. 22, for the Wee Blossom (0-2),Little Miss (ages 3-6) or Junior Miss (ages 7-12) Apple Blossom titles.
Girls 0-12 years of age will be competing forthe titles of Wee Blossom, Little Miss AppleBlossom and Junior Miss Apple Blossom onSunday.
Contestants will be dressed in their best farmor country girl outfit. Judging will be based on
costume, personality and presentation.The contest is Sunday, Oct. 22, with sign in
at 3:30 p.m., dress rehearsal and judges chat at4 p.m., followed by the on-stage contest at 5p.m.
• There will be three age divisions: 0-2 years,3-6 years and 7-12 years. Entry fee is $20 percontestant. Applications were accepted throughOct. 14.
• There will be one grand-prize title awardedin each age bracket. There will also be one run-ner-up prize in each age bracket.
• Overall first, second and third-place prizeswill be awarded.
• Prizes will be awarded for Best Personalityand Most Creative Outfit.
• Contestant agrees the decision of the judgesis final.
• No make-up allowed. Hair must be ageappropriate.
• All contestants must be accompanied andsupervised by a parent or legal guardian duringall contest proceedings.
• All contestants by entering, agree to allowThe Cleveland Apple Festival™ and/or itssponsors to use their likeness and names forpublicity purposes relating to the festivaland/or the Apple Blossom Contest.

The Cleveland Apple Festival’s Apple Talent competition isopen to all ages. Vocalists, vocal groups, bands, solo instru-mentalists, magicians, jugglers, stand-up comedians, story-tellers, specialty acts — use your imagination; any act that isfamily friendly entertainment are invited to compete. Lyricsand content should be family appropriate.
The auditions to enter the contest were held on Oct. 7.The family friendly performances will be 3 to 7 minutes.
Talent presenters are required to provide their own CD, trax,Mp3 or pianist.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, the “Apple Talent” presentations willbe given at 4 p.m. on the Courthouse Stage.
Monetary awards will be given for first — $75; second, $50;and third, $25.
The entertainment will be presented to three judges and theApple Festival audience.

variety of delicious apple desserts that turnup on tables, for parties, special occasionsand for snacks.
The Cleveland Apple Festival is looking forsome of those homemade apple desserts forits apple dessert competition Saturday, Oct.21. Entries will be taken between 11:15 a.m.and 12:30 p.m., at the Gazebo in theCourthouse Square. The winners will beannounced from the stage at 2 p.m.
Sonya Brock’s Apple Cider Cake was thefirst-place finisher in the competition in2016. The second-place finisher wasChristine Brady with Mini Caramel ApplePie with oatmeal cookie crust.
Entry applications will be $10 the day ofthe competition. They will be accepted up to12:30 p.m.
• The grand prize will be a $50 gift certifi-cate. The runner-up will receive a $25 giftcertificate.
The rules for the competition are as fol-lows:
• Up to three dessert submissions areallowed; however, only one dessert per entryfee will be accepted.
• The competition is open to anyone 12years of age or older. Participants must pur-chase an entry ticket to the Cleveland AppleFestival at the gate. Employees of theCleveland Apple Festival or Apple ValleyOrchards and their immediate families areineligible to compete in the contest.
• The homemade dessert must be broughtto the Apple Dessert Contest Table onSaturday, Oct. 21, between 11:15 a.m. and12:30 p.m. Judging will begin promptly at 1
p.m. A winner will be announced at 2 p.m.• Each participant must submit one fresh-
ly made apple-baked dessert for each paidentry form (limit three per household) in an8- to 12-inch (approximately) non-return-able dessert pan or plate. All dessertsbecome the property of The Cleveland AppleFestival.
• Each entry will be recorded and a num-ber assigned to the contestant. The numberwill be placed on the bottom of the pan. Noother identifying marks may be made on thedessert or the pan. Only The ClevelandApple Festival™ Dessert Committee willknow the identity of the dessert maker.
•All desserts must contain apples as theirprimary ingredient.
• The desserts will be judged according tothe following: 1) appearance and 2) taste
•Winners will be announced from the per-formance stage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21,during the festival. Winners must be presentat this time to accept prizes.
