WELCOME

Welcome to the 62nd Clevedon Gardeners’ ClubSpring Flower Show.As we start to prepare for the show we still havesome weeks until the end of February but so far it hasbeen a fairly mild winter. We hope that the weatherwill be kind and our plants will grow so everyone canproduce the usual stunning displays of spring flowers.This year we will be joined by two local charities:Avon Wildlife Trust and the Cinnamon Trust, who willhave information on their activities as well as cardsetc to sell.There will also be stalls selling books and puzzles,bric-à-brac, bulbs and plants courtesy of Don andJoan Everitt, as well as cakes to eat and buy, and atombola.We hope you can join us to make it a successful show.

GENERAL RULES1. Exhibits to be staged between 9am and 10.45am on the day of the Show. 2. No arrivals after 10.30am. 3. The Hall will be cleared for Judging at 11.00am.4. Exhibits may be removed from Show tables from 4.30pm, and by 4.45pm at the latest.5. Exhibitors may have a maximum of 2 entries in each class.6. No exhibitor will be permitted to take more than one prize in each class. 7. Each exhibit must be entered on the entry form as a separate item (e.g. 19A,19B) and paid for accordingly.8. Exhibits will be judged for decorative effect as well as quality of bloom. No non-plant embellishments to be included.9. Prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the Judges, whose decision is final.10. Prize money and points will be awarded as follows:1st prize 80p (8 pts); 2nd prize 50p (5 pts); 3rd prize 30p (3 pts).11. Prize money may be collected from the Treasurer at the end of the show. Any prize money not claimed within 7 days will be forfeited and returned to Club funds.12. All exhibits must be the property of the exhibitor (except as in rule 12). Plant material, including plants in their show containers, must have been grown by the exhibitor for at least 5 weeks prior to the show. 13. The flower arrangement class may contain material not grown or owned by the exhibitor and may be constructed in situ or brought in complete.14. An exhibit once placed may not be moved or touched, other than by a Committee Member. No exhibitor may move or touch the exhibit of another. 15. No responsibility for loss or damage is accepted by the committee for any exhibit.

In addition to a programme of talks which are held on Monday evenings from September to April at 7.15 for 7.30 pm in Room 2 at the Community Centre, the Club also arranges outings and open gardens.Annual subscription is £15 (including CCA subscription £7) plus £1 per meeting with a speaker. Discount cards for local nurseries. Discount on seed orders. New members and visitors (£2.50) are most welcome. Come along to a meeting or contact one of the members below.
