Introduction
Intel-powered classmate PC refresh is a mobile personal learning device for elementary school age students. Developed specifically to enhance teaching and learning, classmate PCs engage children with “real PC” performance in a rugged, child-friendly design. The Classmate PC comes with practical, education-oriented features that improve the learning experience for students, teachers, parents, and schools.
These slides discuss Classroom Collaboration which applies toe-Learning.

Background:
Classroom Collaboration addresses many of the time-consuming activities teachers perform in their day-to-day schedules, including attendance monitoring, lesson preparation, and class tests administration. These slides are designed to show OEM customers how to train teachers and students on the installation, implementation, and operation of Classroom Collaboration running on second generation Intel-powered classmate PCs.
Audience:
This training document is intended for Intel marketing, Intel GEO technical marketing engineers (TMEs), Intel local field application engineers (FAEs), OEM technical staff, and other NDA-covered company staff who will work with teachers and students on the installation, implementation, and operation of Classroom Collaboration.

General Purpose:
The fundamental subject covered in these slides are:
• How to install and uninstall the Classroom Collaboratione-Learning application to and from teacher computers. Also to install the application to Intel-powered classmate PC student systems.
• How to establish and configure wireless networks while running the Classroom Collaboration e-Learning application.
• How to operate the Classroom Collaboration e-Learning from both teacher computers and Intel-powered classmate PCs.
The processes outlined in this document are valid in the English (US version) software language version.

1. Confirm that the BIOS is burned with the classmate PC specific string:
• For Intel-powered classmate PC version 1.0: the classmate PC specific string will be integrated with the BIOS version higher than 1.03. In second generation Intel-powered classmate PCs, all BIOS versions will have the string integrated.
• Run winmsd and then make sure the System Model shows as Intel-powered Classmate PC or Intel-powered classmate PC.
Note: If the BIOS string does not exist, the installation will still run successfully;
however, it will run only after the e-Learning* license is registered to the student’s
computer.

2. Double-click the Mythware E-learning(student) installation program in the installation package. Select the language and then click OK.
Note: If there is already a version of the application in your system, it will be

7. Enter the required information in the Uninstall password and Confirm uninstall password text boxes. Click Next.
Note: The uninstall password text box can be left blank if a password is not required. If
used, the password length should be shorter than 32 characters.

9. Wait for the installation to complete.

10. Click Finish on the completion dialog.
11.Click Yes to restart the computer. The Mythware e-learning application will be installed in the classmate PC and run automatically as a background program after the OS starts.

1. Double-click the Master Program icon on the desktop or click Start->All programs->Mythware->e-learning Class V6.0->Master Program.

Note: The teacher’s computer operating system account should be the administrator.

3. Enter the Teacher name, Login password, and then select the Class Model. Click Login. If the teacher’s PC hasn’t connected to the network, a warning message will display as below, Click OK.
Note: The default login password is blank when the teacher logs in for the
first time. After the teacher has set up a login name, the Class Model will jump to the session the teacher logged in the last time.

To minimize the class program, a floating toolbar can be displayed or
condensed at the top of the teacher’s screen.
This toolbar allows the teacher to perform common operations, including the following: 1. Screen Broadcast 2. Voice Broadcast 3. Electronic Pen 4. Screen Record 5. Monitor 6. File Distribution 7. Net Movie 8. Remote Shutdown 9. Remote Command 10. Options.

Connection
To get started, the student clicks the button on the floating bar or right-clicks the tray menu and then selects Connect….
If the teacher’s PC and classmate PCs are connected within the same LAN, the teacher’s name will show in the Session List. The student selects the teacher and then clicks Connect. If the student is connecting to the teacher for the first time, the student should set his login name first.
Note: The student can’t use the same name as another classmate in the same class model. Set Name… is available when student is not connected to the teacher’s computer.

When a student attempts to connect to the teacher for the first time, a dialog box Pop-up on the Teacher side. Choose the student, then click Accept the student or click Deny to reject the student. Also you can press Accept All to accept all students at one time.

If the Teacher accepts the student, the student will connect to the Teacher successful and display at Teacher main window as below.
If the student has connected successfully before, he doesn’t need to be accepted by Teacher.

Screen Broadcast - student side: If the student is in Screen Show Window mode, Right click on the window, there are some functions to use.
Auto Focus: The monitor will only show the part of screen image directly around the student’s cursor. When
the student moves his cursor to a new place, the image displayed on the monitor window will change.
Pan: The monitor will show part of a student’s screen. The teacher can manually move the image in the
monitor window to display different parts of the student’s desktop.
Zoom display: The student’s entire screen is scaled to fit in the teacher’s monitor window.

Screen Broadcast Floating Toolbar:
1. To display/Hide the main interface for the programs in the teacher-side computer.
2. To start or stop broadcasting voice to students
3. To open the Electronic Pen so that you can annotate the desktop
4. To record the broadcasted operation contents to a file
5. To adjust the screen broadcast’s picture quality. The picture qualities represented
by these four buttons are Highest, Higher, Normal, Low (from left to right).
6. To switch between the Full Screen mode and Windowed Mode
7. To show or hide the Bound window
8. To change the Screen Broadcast performance and its speed
9. To stop the broadcast.

There are three types of student grade status:
Not graded: indicating that the teacher has not opened and graded the student’s quiz paper.
Grading: the teacher is grading the student’s quiz paper. The total number of questions and

Graded: the teacher has finished the grading for that student’s quiz paper.

There are three types of student status in total, as described below:
