There were also acci-dents reported in Musko-gee (three), Durant (one), Guymon (two) and Noble County (one).

The accidents involved one driving under the influ-ence, one speeding, and one motorcycle.

Locally, Logan County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and the Guthrie Police De-partment (GPD) reported a quiet weekend on the road-ways.

The LCSO reported 315 calls over the holiday weekend with 68 traffic stops and 118 special em-phasis patrols in various parts of the county. There were two accidents with no injury and one accident with an unknown injury.

The GPD reported one party with four juve-niles broken up on the west side of town with Anthony Leach, 18, arrested for con-tributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession with intent to deliver and pos-session of marijuana. There were several other arrests

for possession of controlled dangerous substances and one public intoxication charge.

The post holiday pe-riod did not start out very well for the OHP as there were five fatalities on state highways Tuesday from three accidents. There were two other accidents also re-ported on the day. Besides the Logan County accident, there was a double fatality accident in Grove, Okla-homa when a car hit a tree at a high rate of speed kill-ing a 23-year mom and her two-year old daughter. The driver of the car is in criti-cal condition. In the other accident in Craig County, a husband and wife were killed in an accident in which no seatbelts were worn and both were ejected from the car. That accident is still under investigation.

A final result of the Click It or Ticket Cam-paign from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office re-ported 116 total crashes, 11 alcohol related; 717 speed related stops; 600 seat belt citations and 320 motor as-sists.
