EntrelacEntrelac is one of the great tricks of the knitting world. Is it woven? Does it involve a lot of sewing? None of the above. Youll work with self-striping yarn which creates the illusion that each small section is made from a separate yarn source, when in fact youll be working with one continuous strand. Its also a great opportunity to try the option of knitting back backwards so that you can work with the right side of the piece facing you at all times. Choose the wide shawl version or a narrower scarf version and finish with an elegant knotted fringe.

Folly CoveFolly Cove is an A-line summer tunic designed by our recent guest teacher, Julia Farwell-Clay. The shirt tail hemline is done in double basket weave stitch. Gull Wing lace trims the front neckline. A tiny bit of the same lace is added to the upper back neckline and the short set in sleeves.

Iced FrappuccinoJulie Turjomans book, Knits that Breathe, is full of hot weather friendly knitwear. Iced Frappuccino has a graceful taper in the body, somewhere between an A-line and swing shape. Jule thoughtfully places all the shaping in the plain areas between the columns of easy lace. The pattern transitions to a mesh stitch for the last few inches creating a cap sleeve yoke. A row of crochet finishes off the neckline and sleeve edges.

Latvian Mittens
Enjoy two days of classes with our special guest teacher, Beth Brown-Reinsel. The beautiful mittens of Latvia will be studied in this class and an adult mitten will be knitted to learn the following techniques: A fringed and scalloped cuff, the herringbone braid and many subtle and beautiful variations of the half-braid, the waste-yarn thumb, and round tip shaping. A variety of traditional motifs (choice of two or three colors in a round) are incorporated in the main body of the mitten, and reading from the chart will be covered. Additional techniques to be discussed include knitting with two yarns in the right hand, two yarns in the left hand, or a yarn in each hand and working with three yarns in a round. Yarn kit will be available. Please note that this is a relaxed pace class. You will get all the benefit of the vast experience of our guest teacher, but you wont feel like you are rushing through the material
