FundFull‐DayKindergartenProvidecategoricalsupport,includingadditionalfacilities,tocompletetherolloutoffull‐daykindergartenfortheremainingstudentsoverthenexttwoyears.Inthelong‐term,fundallkindergartenstudentsatthefull1.0weightasapartoftheregularDistributiveSchoolAccountBudget.
AssistStrugglingStudentsExpandfundingtocreate32additionalZOOMschools(1inWhitePine,12inWashoe,and19inClark).Inthelong‐term,adopttheproposedweightedformulawithexpectationthatadditionalfundingwillbeusedtoensurethird‐gradeliteracyforthestudentsintheweightedcategories.
ProvideSupportforOurEducatorsPrioritizeProfessionalLearningIncreasetheequivalentofanadditionaldayeachyearofthe2015‐17biennium(foratotaloftwoadditionaldays).Inthelong‐term,extendtheteacherworkyearbytheequivalentoffivedaystoprovidenecessarytimeforprofessionaldevelopmentandcollaborationby2020.
EnsureAccesstoTextbooks,Materials,AssessmentsandTechnology1)Revisittheappropriatenessofthe“MinimumExpenditureRequirement”soasnottopunishschooldistrictswitharequirementthatisnotcurrentwithschoolfundingandcosts.2)Assessthetechnologicalneedsofschoolsanddistrictsandfundwhatisneededforcompliancewiththemandatedassessmentsandcurriculum.

FundtheBaseAchievethe2025goalbyincreasingthebaseincrementallyineachofthenextfivesessions‐$406perstudentforeachofthenextfivebienniaor$203peryearforeachofthenexttenyears.Inthelong‐term,fundK‐12educationinNevadaatalevelcommensuratewiththenationalaverageby2025.
RevisetheFundingFormulaReviewtherecommendationsoftheTaskForceonPublicEducationK‐12Fundingandusecategoricalfundingtophaseinthenecessaryincreasestoaweightedformulaoverthenext10years.Inthelong‐term,implementaweightedfundingformulatoprovideadditionalsupportsforstrugglinglearnersthroughcategoricalfunds.
Establisha“RainyDay”FundRequirethat“reversion”fundsremaininaneducationrainydayfunduntilsuchtimeastheyaccumulateto10percentoftheannualDSArevenues.Inthelong‐term,createaneducationstabilizationfundwhereDSAreversionsoverthe10percentthresholdareallocatedtoNevada’sschooldistrictsonaper‐pupilbasistobeusedfornon‐recurringexpendituressuchascapitalimprovements,professionaldevelopment,andequipmentpurchase.
