Regarding CIHT data shown in next two slides:
Energy input = 5 mA for 0.4 Seconds at an average of 0.79 Volts.Energy output = 5 mA for 4.1 Seconds at an average of 0.78 Volts
Power input = (Duty cycle)*(Volts)*(Current) = (0.4/4.5)*(0.005)*(0.79) = 0.351 mW Power Output = (Duty Cycle)*(Volts)*(Current) = (4.1/4.5)*(0.005)*(0.78) = 3.55 mW
Ratio = Output/Input = 3.55/0.351 = 11.2
Gain = (100%)*(Output/Input) = (100%)*(3.55/0.351)= 1120%
Output and input current could be measured using the exact same 1 ohm resistor (volts across resistor would be 0.005 V).Voltage across the cell remains fairly constant at 0.78 to 0.79 Volts.Total error for power measurements can easily be less than 3% with good equipment.
