EC must be informed of specific dietary requirements at the time of the booking.While EC endeavours to accommodate special requests such as Dietaryrequirements, this will have to be confirmed at booking stage by theaccommodation department.

During the week students will receive a hot lunch delivered to School or in the citycentre. At the weekend, students must bring their own packed lunch.

If students require a vegetarian or any other particular diet, EC must be informed ofthis prior to their arrival.

In the morning, students should beaccompanied to school by aparent/guardian and attend lessons(or activities). This is followed bylunch. After the afternoon activity (orlesson), students must be collectedby a parent/guardian and join theirfamily for dinner.All activities are within walkingdistance, however students maychoose to purchase a buspass/ticket to reach the venues bybus along an Activity Leader.A weekly bus pass costs up to £25and can be purchased on the bus(price is subject to change).

Course: Project Based learning20 lessons per week (a total of 15 hours)1 lesson = 45 minutes

The course will help improve English Language skills byencouraging the students to work and communicatetogether toward completing a weekly Project, emphasis isplaced on communication and developing life skills.Lessons are engaging and designed especially for younglearners. Teachers aim to satisfy any interest, with a focus oncommunication to boost students' confidence when usingEnglish in practical situations.Our dedicated and professional teaching staff providefeedback and support and help students build confidence tospeak English.All lessons and activities work together. Each week covers adifferent theme and what's learnt in class is linked withactivities outside of the classroom.That means learners getto use and practice their skills every single day.

Academic Timetable

Following the placement test Academic staff will placestudents in the relevant group for their ability. When the schoolis busy, EC will utilise a Double Banking timetable. Put simply,students attend morning sessions of classes one week; the nextweek they attend afternoon sessions.

On the first day, all students will take a placement test, allowingacademic staff to place students in the relevant group for theirability. In the afternoon, students will be given an orientationtour.

Any student unable to attend their first day on Sunday shouldarrive at the learning centre on Monday by 08:30.

WELFARE, RULES AND DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Course Certificate

Students must attend all lessons and organised activities inorder to receive their End of Course certificate. Students willreceive their Certificate on the last day of the course.

DisciplineIn order to manage student behaviour, EC staff may issue aformal warning, notify parents, ban students from an activity orwithhold the End of Course Certificate, if the studentmisbehaves.

Note:EC may, from time to time, make an exception and allowstudents outside the stated age range to participate in one ormore of the Young Learner programmes. For more information,please speak with your EC contact.

As per U.K. law, any EC student on the Young LearnersProgramme caught consuming alcohol during their stay will beexpelled from the school. No alcohol consumption is permittedduring the programme.

The consumption of any illegal drugs will result in theimmediate expulsion and the possible intervention of thepolice.

Smoking is not permitted during any part of the programme.

EC reserves the right to expel for any of the following reasons:

Possession of any illegal drugsDrinking or bringing alcohol on to any EC premisesMalicious damage to school property or place ofaccommodationIf the student is a danger to his/her own safety or that ofother studentsBreaking English lawRepeated failure to attend academic lessons and/or socialactivitiesBullying, racist behaviour, sexual harassment or violence

In any of the above circumstances, the student will be informedthat their stay will be terminated with immediate effect.Simultaneously, EC informs the student’s agent of the student’sbehaviour and the course of action to be taken. The earliestflight available is booked at the student's expense and an ECstaff member accompanies the student to the airport to ensurethat the student leaves the country. Following such action, ECwill terminate all relationships with the student and will beunable to take further responsibility for the student. No refundswill be given to any students who have been expelled.

At EC, we endeavour to provide our students with the highestpossible level of service. If, however, a student is unsatisfiedwith any aspect of their programme with EC, we ask that theyinform us immediately. Most problems are small and can bequickly resolved by our staff members. During the first week ofschool, all students are given an initial Course Evaluation form,in which they are asked to evaluate various aspects of theirstay. The form also allows students to bring to our attentionanything that is not to their satisfaction should they feel unableto speak to us directly. Solutions to any issues will be providedand all necessary parties will be notified when applicable.Students are also requested to complete an online End ofCourse Evaluation form at the end of their stay so that theyhave the opportunity to provide EC with general feedbackbefore returning to their home countries.
