Why was the Civil Rights Movement Necessary?

• 13th amendment- “freed slaves”• Intention/assumption- blacks free=equal

citizens (failed)• 14th amendment- “blacks are citizens”• Intention/assumption- black= citizens=vote=

same rights and privileges as white counterparts (failed)
