Geothermal resources provide green energy for industries, as well as hot water for heating houses and other domestic use.
Geothermal water is also used for the country’s signature number of spas and thermal pools

Costs of connection fees for heating, water, electricity and data can be given when building size and electricity need is provided to the relevant utility provider.

Industrial plots are leased for 50 years
A long term land lease is very comparable to ownership because of its long duration.
The standard lease rate is 1% of the plot valuation per year.
If the area plan and master plan have not changed the lease automatically is renewed for 50 years in the end of the first 50 years.
If a contract is not renewed the city of Reykjavik will purchase them for a fee estimated by individual, third party valuators.
