There will be an additional charge for Construction Debris, excess yard waste/leaves, and appliances containing refrigerants or appliances that have not been tagged as having refrigerants removed, as well as any items requiring additional manpower to load or requiring a separate truck or equipment. Please call our local Customer Service Department at 1-800-247-3644 for pricing on these items.

All residents will be signed up and billed automatically beginning October 1, 2012. Residents can choose between three different levels of service. Unlimited service with a 96-gallon cart for waste collection and 64-gallon cart for recycling is $11.24 per month. Limited service with a 96-gallon cart for waste collection and 64-gallon cart for recycling is $10.24 per month. Bag service with a 30-gallon bag for waste and a 64-gallon cart for recycling is $2.37 per bag and $2.00 per month for recycling. Residents choosing this service will purchase Republic Service bags from Canal Fulton Giant Eagle. Your current hauler will be removing his cart and Republic Services will be delivering carts the last couple of weeks of September. The city has provided us with a list of addresses so you won’t have to do a thing.

Invoices will arrive in advance of the quarter. Payment is due within 45 days. Ask about our “on-line” payment option. when you call.

The City of Canal Fulton has secured firm pricing for you through our contract. However, we all agree that with the history of our State and Federal Lawmakers adding fees and taxes, there may be unforeseen costs incurred over the term of this agreement. No increases, fuel surcharges or rate increase can be implemented for the term of this agreement without prior notification of the city leadership and their approval.

NOTE: The above bulky item prices will not be charged to residents with unlimited service. Single items that are not able to be collected by one man or that we cannot put into our compaction trucks (i.e. Freon bearing appliances, pianos, ect.) will be dispatched to a supervisor or bulk truck and charged at $75.00 per item. Please call Republic at 330-830-9050 if you have a question about this service. Our special collection rate for large items and for bearing appliances is $75 for the first hour and any part of the first hour. The rate is $55 each hour after the first hour. Billing- All residents will be invoiced quarterly/in advance. Payment terms are 45 days before they are suspended for non-payment. Customer Service– Residents with questions can contact us at 1-800-247-3644 between the hours of 7-5, Monday through Friday. On Holiday weeks where collection days are delayed, the offices will be staffed on Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm to answer any questions that arise.

96-gallon carts- A 96-gallon cart for waste collection and a 64-gallon recycling cart will be provided to each resident of the City of Canal Fulton.

FRF and ERF– Currently we will N O T c h a r g e a F u e l o r Environmental Recovery Fee. However, at a time when fuel rates go to a higher level, environmental fees are increased or there is a law change impacting our cost of collection or disposal, City Council may be petitioned by Republic Services for an adjustment to cover the additional expense(s), only.

Items Not Collected- We will not collect ashes, drums, hazardous waste, oil, paint, solvent liquids, medical waste, flammable and toxic waste, tires, large batteries, dead animals, large car parts, rocks, bricks, stone, dirt, any items in excess of 50 pounds, unsecured bundles of material that are unsafe for collection or anything over 4 feet in length.

*If your trash service falls on or after a holiday, during the week, your collection will be delayed one day. Should one of these holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday, all collections for the following week will be performed on the normal collection day, without delay.

C o l l e c t i o n S c h e d u l e - Residents will be required to have their waste at the curb by 6AM on collection day.

Yard Waste: Republic will collect leaves , g rass c l ipp ings o r decomposable natural yard waste, if placed in bags or other suitable containers, and placed at the point of collection.

Bulk material (brush, tree or shrub trimmings including Christmas trees, board, fencing,

paneling, carpeting, etc.) shall be cut in 4' lengths and tied in 18" bundles, weighing not

more than 50 pounds. Small shrubs will be picked up in one piece if they are within the

specified limitations. Loose material must be bagged, boxed, or placed in trash cans, and

is also subject to the above weight restrictions.

Furniture and/or appliances or other listed items shall be picked up on the regular

collection day, in one piece for an additional cost to the subscriber. Picnic tables, chairs,

and benches are considered furniture. For more information on bulk pricing please see

the reverse side of this brochure.

More than ten bags of yard waste will be billed at $1.00 per bag.

Residents of Canal Fulton that have OPTED-OUT can enter the program at any time. Please consider participating to minimize the impact of more large trucks on your neighborhood streets.

Temporary Containers- Customers can rent commercial or industrial containers for c leanup and construction projects. Standard container delivery, collection and disposal charges will apply.

RECYCLING GUIDELINES Republic Services will be providing you a green 65-gallon recycling cart to place and store your recyclables for collection day. Set your recycling material at the curb, next to your trash on the regular collection day in your area. It is only necessary to place your recyclables out at the curb when your container is full. Most of the time, this can be done every other week.

Follow These Simple Recycling Steps

Collect your GLASS, PLASTIC & METAL recyclables and place them together in your bin.

GLASS All food and beverage containers made of glass can be recycled, regardless of color. Simply remove the cap, rinse them and place in the bin. No need to remove labels. Please, no herbicide or pesticide containers, window glass, light bulbs, mirrors or ceramics.

PLASTIC All Food and Beverage containers and other plastics with the #1 thru #7 printed on the bottom can be recycled. Again, please rinse and place in your bin. Motor oil, antifreeze, pesticide and herbicide containers should be placed in your trash when empty.

ALUMINUM AND STEEL CANS

Rinse all metal food and beverage containers and place them in your bin. Removing labels is not required. For added space in your cart, consider cutting tops and bottoms out and flattening the cans.

NEWSPAPER AND OLD CORRUGATED CONTAINERS

(OCC) Newspapers should be placed in brown paper bags to contain them from blowing on collection day. Old corrugated containers (OCC) should be cut down to fit in the cart. If you’re placing it outside the cart, after cutting it down into squares, secure with a string or masking tape. OCC or cardboard that is lined with foil, plastic, wax coated, soiled or wet should be included with the your trash as these types of materials will contaminate the good paper products. Other items that should be excluded from your recyclables are food service paper, cups plates and cereal

boxes.
