The jewel of the Red Sea Riviera; it is located 85 km north of Sharm el-Sheikh. It is a place that many have fallen in love with over the years. Dahab was once an isolated coastal village inhabited only by local Bedouins. As little as 30 years ago, there were fewer than 30 Bedouin families in Dahab. Like the Bedouin inland, they had a self-sustaining lifestyle but in Dahab this was based on fishing as well as traditional goat herds. During the summer, many of the inland Bedouins came to Dahab to fish, to collect dates, and to enjoy life by the sea. To this day, favourite presents from Dahab (for the inland Bedouins) are dried fish & dates. During the 1990s adventure enthusiasts from around the world began to discover Dahab’s natural wonders. The combination of the Red Sea & the Sinai desert make Dahab perfect for: world class windsurfing, scuba diving, free diving, rock climbing and of course desert trekking with the Bedouins. Add to this cheap accommodation on or near the beach, inexpensive food and drink and a relaxed atmosphere, and you have a heady enticement for the young and young at heart. Still, for everyone with an open mind, Dahab is definitely worth a visit. To many people this has become a second home. DAHAB

What is healthy eating? What is a good diet?

Diet is often referred to as some dietary regimen for losing weight. However, diet simply means what food we eat in the course of a 24-hour, one week, or one month, etc. period. Healthy eating means consuming the right quantities of foods from all food groups in order to lead a healthy life.

A good diet is a nutritional lifestyle that promotes good health. A good diet must include several food groups because one single group cannot provide everything a human needs for good health.

This Medical News Today information article provides details on when we

should eat, what defines healthy eating, World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations on healthy eating, what the Healthy Eating Index (HEI) is, the consequences of unhealthy eating, and how plant-based diets protect from chronic diseases.

When we eat matters too

A large breakfast helps control body weight - a team of researchers from Tel Aviv University, Israel, explained in the journal Obesity that a big breakfast - one containing about 700 calories - is better for losing weight and lowering one’s risk of developing heart disease, high cholesterol and diabetes.

Prof. Daniela Jakubowicz and team stressed that when we eat our food may matter as much as what we eat.

How do you define healthy eating?

The crucial part of healthy eating is a balanced diet. A balanced diet - or a good diet - means consuming from all the different good groups in the right quantities. Nutritionists say there are five main food groups - whole grains, fruit and vegetables, protein, diary, and fat & sugar.

Koshk goes Augmented

Koshk is a business augmentation service company that was established in 2011 and is owned by Karim El-Emary. The core of his business relies on providing technological aids to companies in order for them to bring their different departments together; thus making them work harmoniously.

We have created a solution which has the ability to unite sales, marketing and advertising departments. The aforementioned will add value to each department’s return on investment, seen as it has a positive effect on the way their goals are achieved.

Considering that we work in technology, marketing and general trading sectors; we as a company have gained immense amounts of experience. Koshk has the ability to offer solid solutions for businesses due to its knowledgeable background and the deep understanding they will acquire after educating themselves on the business’ needs.

We are able to break down the barriers of augmentation for large businesses and SME’s alike. This is to be done through our first interactive shopping magazine and other technological advances that are underway.

Koshk and City News

At the moment Koshk is launching their application under the campaign name: ‘The ultimate shopping experience’. Augmented Reality, a truly new and innovative application idea is coming to Egypt for the first time. City News now has an additional four pages which are dedicated to Koshk; those four pages are where brand products are displayed in a way which makes them interactive, for an easy transaction. You will first need to have the application downloaded on your Apple or Android Smartphone, after you do that all you have to do is scan the product you like, and buy it. It is that simple.

In this issue of City News you will find the scattered around on different images and topics. Scan these parts with the Koshk application; you will automatically be able to intermingle with music and real videos.

Augmented Reality worldwide

Many firms around the globe are using augmented reality (AR) applications to promote their products. For example: IKEA, they launched an AR service allowing consumers to get a virtual preview of particular items and the way they would look in their homes. It involved a printed catalog and of course a device with the augmented reality app installed.

The AR technology used will show a virtual image of the selected item with the user’s room as the background. The whole image will be displayed on the device screen. An IKEA spokesperson said, “We want customers to know that purchasing furniture is easy and enjoyable too.”

Lastly, augmented reality is currently being used for product advertisements by many other industries: tourism, car manufactures and fashion retailers are examples.

Considering the speedy growth this application has been experiencing, we can tell that it is definitely going to be a great part of our future.

Tom Hanks’ shoot in Egypt for ‘A Hologram for the King’comes to an end

The Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks has finished shooting scenes for ‘A Hologram for the King’ in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Hurghada, according to the president of the Egyptian Film Center.

Egypt’s MENA news agency reported that Hanks had started shooting the film — based on the novel by Dave Eggers — having arrived in the country last week. Local newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm added that Hanks had slept aboard a yacht in the Red Sea during production, with the actor telling the publication that it was his first visit to the area.

Kamal Abdel Aziz, president of the Egypt’s National Film Center as well as a director of photography, confirmed that Hanks has left the country. “He finished everything that was needed, and everything went well,” adding that the shoot had used underwater cameras in the Red Sea, a popular diving resort.

“We need to show that shooting in Egypt is easy for foreign productions,” said Abdel Aziz. “We want to welcome international films to shoot by the Pyramids, the Nile, the Red Sea, the desert, Alexandria. We have a variety of locations.”

As part of this new drive to attract international productions, Abdel Aziz claimed that the National Film Centre pushed through all the necessary permission documents for A Hologram for the King in 72 hours. “It’s a new change for us, from the Egyptian Film Centre,” he said. “It’s now very easy to come in and out with equipment.”

In addition to Hanks’ shoot, Abdel Aziz claimed that Egypt recently welcomed a team from Ridley Scott’s upcoming biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings to film in Luxor. “They stayed for about 10 days,” he said.

Written and directed by Tom Tykwer, A Hologram for the King is adapted from Eggers’ 2012 book about a struggling U.S. businessman who travels to Saudi Arabia in a desperate attempt to secure an I.T. equipment contract with the King Abdullah Economic City being built near Jeddah.

The cast also includes Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), Omar Elba (Intelligence), Tracey Fairaway (Enough Said), David Menkin (Zero Dark Thirty) and Tom Skerritt (Ted, Top Gun). Shooting began in Morocco last month, while The Hollywood Reporter offered the first exclusive image from the film at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The ultimate Cypriot experience

I have chosen to write about the island of Aphrodite, the “Goddess of Love and Beauty ’’ - Cyprus.

First, let me say a few words about Mr. Michael G. Leptos; one of the most influential men in Cyprus. In 1960, Leptos founded Leptos Group; it’s the leading group in land and building development in Cyprus and the Greek islands too. Leptos Group is involved in industries such as Real Estate, Travel and Tourism, Hotels, Education and Health Care.

I have met Mr. Michael; it was a privilege. He is a very humble and righteous man, with a sense of humour. Having lived and worked in Saudi,

“I grew up in Cyprus and Egypt, these fantastic places I remember fondly.”

- Téa Obreht, American novelist

Mr. Leptos’ command of Arabic is quite remarkable. He’s an ambitious individual whose vision and personal management skills ripened the island in its entirety.

One of his visions was what is now known as ‘Neapolis,’ “a city within a city.”

Infact, 10 Egyptian journalists from Cairo and Alexandria were invited to visit Neapolis and its home city, Paphos. They got to experience the nightlife of Kato Paphos, archaeological sites, the old shopping centre along the harbour. They also had the pleasure of meeting many of the highest ranked individuals; the mayor of Paphos is an example.

Cyprus is an island less than an hour away from Egypt (and shares the same Mediterranean big-heartedness.) Since ‘74 the island’s north has been occupied by Turks. The part of the island that I’ll be focusing on is that below the border (Attila) line.

Cyprus was always identified as a ‘sun sand and sea destination,’ but it is more than that; it is an island with almost infinite variety. Your senses will be tantalized between the rural attractions, fish in the sea, pelicans on land and the cool pine tree scented night’s breeze in Troodos Mountains. Furthermore, the island has many secluded coves scattered along its coastline - a beach to yourself, who would say no to that? Not me!

Driving through Troodos Mountains you will come across vineyards and picturesque little villages where Cypriot hospitality thrives. If you take a little detour, you can sample authentic

village wines; those untouched by chemicals. Let’s not forget you’ll experience great kindness. With seven different types of traditional Cypriot dancing, there is a chance you’d get to witness this great art; and join in too. Dancers come to your table and pull you by the hand to join in to the “kalamatianos”, a circle-dance.

Are you craving adventure? Well, you could go horse riding, mountain biking, skiing (in the winter) and there are other activities I assure you will make you happy. Are you on spring break, planning a winner holiday with the gang? How does Agia Napa sound? One of Europe’s best nightlife destinations! Home to one of the top 10 beaches in the world: Nissi Beach. Agia Napa boasts a large club- Bedrock Club; with four rooms, each playing a different genre of music, and has chill out and VIP rooms.

There are beautiful cities in cities

in Cyprus; Nicosia (the capital,) Larnaca, Lefkosia, Lemesos, and more. However, the most beautiful (to me at least, and many others) is Paphos. ‘The jewel of Cyprus’ it is home to Leptos’ flagship project, Kamares Village; which has earned many international awards. Its exquisite location is on the hills looking down on Paphos’ coastline and countryside. The villas there are designed to extenuate the Mediterranean outdoor lifestyle with the use of stone, wood, arches. Additions are made to taste be it barbeques, swimming pools, sun terraces or even private tennis courts. A chillaxed atmosphere is enjoyed at the country club which holds all the community events and gather’s its members to relish in good conversation, music and a scenic view like no other.

Let me finish off by giving you a word to the wise. Visit Cyprus

A villa named Heliopolis, how nice is that?

Cape Greco, preseved nature park.

Feed the Pelicans on the beach, or just watch them look pretty.

A beautiful underwater escape in DahabIf you go to Egypt the usual sights to see are the beauty of the Red Sea or the Pyramids of Giza. If you want a place away from the tourist routes, but with extraordinary underwater wonders, I suggest a location that is one hundred kilometers north of Sharm el-Sheik. It’s called Dahab, a seaside town of about thirteen hundred inhabitants, unknown to most people and hardly accessible by plane or bus. For those wishing to enjoy the wonders of one of the most beautiful seas in the world, this is the place. You can get there on a jeep after a hike in the desert.

Dahab relaxing

Windsurfing in Dahab

Dahab means gold and it is still unknown if it is called so due to the color of its beaches or to the market of the most precious metal in the world that used to be here in the past. It lies on the Gulf of Aqaba and is a very windy, popular with windsurfers.

Your first stop can be the Papyrus Museum, an attraction sponsored by the government that only serves to swell the coffers of the state (the papyri are also found in the bazaar at

Easy entry at Blue Hole

half price). Then you can go into the sea where to meet your guide for a trip with camels. You can reach the reef after a few kilometers and know that its beauty is only second to the Australian reef. There you will also find the Blue Hole, a deep hole about one hundred and fifty feet wide populated by the most beautiful fish in the world.

Snorkeling in this place is a unique and spectacular. The recommendations are a must since the victims of the strong currents and lack of knowledge of the place are many. It is highly recommended to use fins, masks and snorkels to see the show and to resist the ocean current. From the shore you can dive in the Blue Hole via a jetty and the fear is so great. It seems you take a leap into the endless void inside a hole that goes from blue to black after only ten meters. But once inside it seems like you are flying. The fish are many and, probably because they are accustomed to human presence, you get to

almost touch them. There are several species and many colors.

It is here that you will have the chance to see from up close many clown fish. Its white, orange and black colors seem to be painted by hand. The complete tour of the Blue Hole allows you to see corals and anemones lively dancing to the rhythm of the waves. Then you come to the edge overlooking the open sea. Taking care not to cut yourself on the sharp coral and rocks, you may begin the exploration of the reef.

The clear water allows you to see up to twenty feet deep. Then, even if you no longer see it, the barrier continues to the bottom. You can see fish, coral and starfish with colors so vivid and bright that it may seem unnatural. And if you’re lucky, you may get to spot even some giant turtles. It is fortunate that Dahab is so isolated and unknown. If it were easy to reach, at this time its gold would have been plundered by man already.

The mysterious Kingdom of Sheba

Egyptian government to put LE1 billion into tourism sector

Friends of Egypt support tourism to Egypt

In the mysterious Kingdom of Sheba/Saba mentioned by many sacred books (1) and different ancient authors, was found years ago, an incredible bronze altar depicting rows of sphinxes...

Modern archaeological findings are showing that the Sheba/Saba Kingdom with its capital Marib was located in the today Yemen between 1200 BC until 275 AD even if in that time we suspect that this kingdom was a much larger realm that the current borders of today Yemen. Some authors are speaking about Ethiopia for the kingdom of Sheba but some of them forgot that to the ancient Greeks and to others before them, « Ethiopia » referred to an empire that encompassed a vast territory, extending to Arabia, Syria, Armenia and the territory between the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf... This is the empire that the Queen of Sheba was said to have reigned over: a very huge empire indeed...

If the earliest sources of texts referring to the people of Saba are annual military chronicles written at the time of Assyrian King Sargon II (722-705 BC), this king wrote the name of the King of Saba, Yith’i-amara(It’amara) in his tax people list. Yet it would be wrong to conclude from this single

Antoine GigalResearcher and Author in Egyptology

document that the culture of Saba has emerged around 700 BC, because we have today the archaeologic proof that Saba/Sheba had existed for a long time. Moreover, in the inscriptions of Arad-Nannar, one of the ancient kings of the state of Ur, the word ‘Sabum’, which is believed to mean’the land of Saba’, was used. If this term actually refers to Saba, then this is also evidence that the history of Saba back until around the year 2500 BC and for me: more... Also the Sabaeans (the people of Saba/Sheba, same people than Nabateans for Strabo) colonized northern Ethiopia during the rule of Karibill Watar I in the 7th century BCE and established several other colonies to control the trade routes that stretched from their capital Marib to Aqaba and to shorten the long journeys of the caravans…

And this incredible altar with sphinxes coming from possibly the 6th century BC, is thought to come from Marib,

the oldest city of Yemen and in that time the most powerful of the states in the South Arabian region, lying in the Sabean plains on the outskirts of the east Yemen desert “Mafazet Saihad”. Controlling the ancient incense routs, a meeting point for caravans coming from the Qana port on the Arabian Sea coast, crossing the Wadi Hadhramout. The Kingdom of Saba/Sheba was very rich because the trade of two resins: frankincense and myrrh only

growing in eastern Yemen, southern Oman and Somaliland and that were in great demand everywhere in that time not only in the temples as in ancient Egypt and in roman empire but also for a daily private use. Also the kingdom was very rich because their agriculture and sophisticated hydraulic systems. Evidence of the extraordinary engineering skills of the Sabeans still remains, including a huge Dam at Marib which turned the sandy plains into fertile wellknown beautiful gardens.Sabaeans were known also as remarkable astronomers. The Magi, the learnedastronomers who saw a new star and set off on a journey to find a newruler connected to the new star, that led them to Bethlehem... they were supposed to be from Sheba...

Egypt’s tourism and finance ministries have agreed to inject LE1 billion worth of funds to support the tourism sector, in reparation for recent cuts in fuel subsidies.

According to Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou the sector will suffer losses as fuel costs make up 80 percent of travel tours expenses, while the decision to reduce energy subsidies came in the middle of the high season and after domestic agencies had signed deals with foreign agencies.

Zaazou did not give further information

This altar (Height: 66.000 cm width: 110.000 cm thickness: 34.500 cm) that you can go to see today at the British Museum is made of bronze and is cast in relief. It is decorated with three rows of sphinxes shown frontally below a Sabaean dedicatory inscription to the god Rahmaw. The raised letters were made by applying individual wax threads onto the panel before it was cast; the same technique was used to make bronze dedicatory tablets (Simpson St J 2002a, cats31, 219). The panels of this altar were attached to a wooden frame using small nails made of almost pure copper. Two joining portions survive. The three rows of standing sphinxes set below a lightly projecting cornice around which runs the beginning of a Sabaean inscription: ‘l bn ‘m’nsh rsw rhmw hqny rhmwlhy’Inscription.

about how the funds would be distributed. The government of Egypt raised the prices of three widely-used state-subsidized fuels -- 80 octane gasoline, 92 octane, and diesel fuel – by up to 78 percent earlier this month. The move is part of a larger effort to rein in Egypt’s budget deficit to 10 percent of GDP in the 2014/2015 fiscal year by cutting LE44 billion in spending on energy subsidies, among other measures.Expectations for a higher value dollar as well as an anticipated rise in demand

among Egyptian tourism in the winter season could contribute to reducing the sector’s losses, said Zaazou.

Citing the fact that 80 percent of world tourism and travel occurs is organized via the internet, the minister announced that the government would collaborate with tourism agencies to develop electronic infrastructure for the whole sector.

During the first half of 2014, around 4.4 million tourists visited Egypt, a 25 percent drop from the same period the previous year, reported state-run statistics agency CAPMAS.

From scratch! From scratch!Starting again from nothing at all,Nothing is all l have and no one to call.Like a glass breaking with no sound,Picking my scattered self off the ground.Have you ever heard yourself break? You can’t! but you can feel your body shake.I am pulling myself together, hoping to stand tall. Wishing to stand still and not fall.I can do this! I can cope!

I can endure the pain! I hope!I just need to rest, plan and think,But I can’t sleep, I don’t even blink. It happened before and it’s happening now, That’s why I feel confident, I have the know how. It’s just me! I am really tired but not weak!My actions will do more than the words I speak. So from scratch I start and with nothing I begin, I have no other choice, either to win or to win!

for independent film screenings, gardens and rooftops in addition to an artist residency to accommodate international artists and curators. The center provides workshops, programs and initiatives to educate and mentor emerging artists and offers them a space to exhibit their work alongside established artists.

It is a hub connecting Egyptian artists from several walks of life with the

local and international art and culture scene. Darb 1718 is an art center and gathering point for all art events in Egypt. A wide stage for Cairo’s Contemporary Art Scene.

Darb 1718 has a history inextricable from the rich history of Cairo itself. The narrative really begins in the seventh century when Fustat was chosen as the capital for a newly empowered nation. The city bourgeoned into the center of art and culture in the Middle East and Africa. This early success was met by a turbulent millennium and a half of war and peace; yet, the artists and craftsmen persevered through all hardships keeping the rich artistic heritage of the area alive. It is on this tradition that Darb 1718 aims to once again build an African/Arab cultural icon renowned the world over.

Ethical issues are central to the way companies and their managers make decisions and affect not only the efficiency and effectiveness but also the prosperity of a nation. Just as people have to work out the right and wrong ways to act, so do companies. When the law does not specify how companies should behave, their managers must decide what is the right or ethical way to behave, toward the people and groups affected by their actions.

In the neither studying the relationship between ethics and the law, it is important to understand that neither laws nor ethics are fixed principles, cast in stone, which do not change overtime. Ethical beliefs alter and change as time passes, and as they do so, laws change to reflect the changing ethical beliefs of the society. It was seen as ethical, and it was legal, for example, to acquire and process slaves in ancient Rome

At 6 AM every morning most employees think:

“Am I right now dying, slowly, for something I’m not willing to die for?”

And ...

“Why am I working so hard, moving so fast, feeling so lousy?”

These two questions indicate that the majority of employees nowadays are feeling like a cog in a machine; like they are doing work that has no real meaning or value. They feel that they are in a place in which they don’t belong and they are doing work that they were not born to do.

If you don’t pay attention to these emotions and thoughts, one day your best talent will either … leave to live, or stay to die.

They will pursue their passions somewhere else, or they will stay just for the security of the paycheck but they will be totally dead. Their mind, heart and spirit will be detached from the work they are doing.

So, your number one role as a leader in

and Greece and in the United States until the late 19th century. Slavery was made illegal in the United States when those in power decided that slavery degraded the very meaning of being human.

The people and groups affected by the way a company and its managers behave are called its stakeholders. Stakeholders supply a company with it’s productive resources; as a result, they have a claim on and stake in the company. Since stakeholders can directly benefit or be harmed by its actions, the ethics of a company and its managers are important them. Who are a company’s major stakeholders? What do they contribute to a company, and what do they claim in return?

According to the Institute Of Certified Professional Managers, Management Skills, 3rd Edition, stakeholders are people and groups who have a claim on and stake in a company. The main stakeholder groups are Stockholders, Managers, Employees, Suppliers and distributers, Customers,

and community, society, and nation. Company and their managers need to make ethical business decisions that promote the well-being of their stakeholders and avoid doing them harm.

To determine if a business decision is ethical, managers can use four ethical rules to analyze it: the utilitarian, moral rights, justice and practical rules. Managers should behave ethically because this avoids the tragedy of the commons and results in a general increase in efficiency, effectiveness, and company performance. The main determinants of differences in a manager’s, company’s and Egypt’s business ethics are societal, occupational, individual, and organizational.

Ethics and social responsibilities: A company’s stance on social responsibility is the way its managers and employees view their duty or obligation to make decisions that protect, enhance, and promote the welfare and well-being of stakeholders and society as a whole.

Approaches to social responsibilities there are four main approaches to social responsibilities: obstructionist, defensive, accommodative, and proactive. The rewards from behaving in a socially responsible way are a good reputation, the support of all organizational stakeholders, and thus superior company performance.

How to increase your profits by making your employees happy

your organization is to create a culture where people feel great, and at the same time maximize profits.

You shouldn’t pamper your people at the expense of profits, and you shouldn’t focus on profits at the expense of your people; you need to find THE balance.

Usually, ordinary leaders hesitate to invest in their people in order to cut costs and increase profits. In my book, PERK UP YOUR PROFITS, I challenge this idea. I researched the best practices of the world’s top employers and discovered their secrets to maximizing profits by investing in creative ‘PERKS’ for their people.

Germany’s Moment of Brilliance

After signing for CD Nacional earlier on Saturday, both Arab Contractors defenders Ali Fathy and Mahmoud Ezzat shared their thoughts on their upcoming challenge in Portugal.

Speaking to KingFut.com‘s Marwan Ahmed, Ali Fathy spoke about the challenges lying ahead as he will be participating in the UEFA Europa League with Nacional, amongst several other competitions, and why he chose the Portuguese side over other Egyptian clubs.

Ali Fathy – Europa League excitement

“I’m really happy as Nacional are a big team and there is an advantage that they’ll be participating in the Europa League, and of course with all due respect to every Egyptian club, to play in the Europa League with very good teams, this will add to me and will be a good step in my career,” Fathy declared.

When asked whether he thought about playing for a bigger team in the Egyptian League, Ali said: “There were some negotiations with the president [Sherif Habib], but with all due respect to every Egyptian team, in comparison to Europe that’s another different dream.”

“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in attempt” – Special Olympics Athlete Oath.

The Special Olympics provides training for many athletes and also creates sports competitions. Their website states that “Today, the Special Olympics movement includes almost 2.25 million athletes who train and compete in 26 sports through more than 200 Programs in more than 150 countries around the world.”

We would like to congratulate one of these great athletes, Mustafa Mahmoud A Hamid, for his performance at the’ Third Special Olympics Middle East and North Africa Regional Games.’ He can be seen on the right, as he wears his gold medal, so proudly.

Mahmoud Ezzat - Motivated by Salah’s example

Centre-back Mahmoud Ezzat, who was a long-term target for Al Ahly, spoke of his preference to move to Europe over the Cairo giants after being advised by the Arab Contractors president Habib, and explained how the success of Mohamed Salah is motivation for him.“A step like Nacional Madeira is a good step for me and a big transition in such little time, and this depends on the person himself if he’s ready for such a step. Like we have seen with Mohamed Salah, in one-and-a-half years he moved from Arab Contractors who were battling relegation to Chelsea, so this depends on the person himself and I will give my best and the rest is in God’s hands.Regarding Al Ahly’s deal that fell through, Ezzat said: “I can’t say that the deal was a failure as the president [Sherif Habib] always told me that he didn’t want me staying in Egypt in the coming period. He had two other successful experiences in Salah and Mohamed El-Nenny and so he sees that I have what it takes to play in Europe.“He was always talking to me and telling me to be patient and that a good chance will arrive and thank God it finally has,” Ezzat concluded.

American boxing promoter Don King visits Egypt

American boxing promoter Don King was recently in Egypt and said he hopes he will be able to organise a fight in Cairo between WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and American boxer Deontay Wilder.

The 82-year-old King, who visited the Giza Pyramids, said he wants to hold the fight “in the shadows of the Pyramids and it’s going to be called King of the Nile.

In conversation with the minister for tourism, Hisham Zazou, it became clear he sees this fight as a chance

to persuade the missing millions of tourists that it is safe to visit Egypt again.

King has promoted some boxing icons, including Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

We are going to ask you a series of questions, if you answer yes to most of them then…

Oh look, the interrogation has started!

Do you play a musical instrument, sing or have a band?

Are you a DJ, do you spin, mix, scratch or whatever the words are that the kids are using these days?

Have you got the gift of the gab, more importantly; would like to present a radio show?

Do you have a demo lying around that messy room of yours that you’d like for others to hear?

We can give you that opportunity?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions then your rightful place is with us on I am Cairo’s Radio!

الجرافيتي .. فن الشوارع والحرية On the 12th of August each year, The United Nations’ (UN) International Youth Day (IYD) is celebrated globally. It aims to acknowledge our world’s youth and their presence in society and the ways in which they have enhanced it. This day is also used to encourage them to contribute actively to their own communities.

The theme of International Youth Day 2014 is “Youth and Mental Health” under the slogan ‘Mental Health Matters’.

There are various activities and events that take place worldwide on International Youth Day which promote the benefits brought to the world by young people. Some of these activities include youth conferences which revolve around education and employment. Others include: concerts, various sporting events, parades and lastly mobile exhibitions where the youth’s achievements are commemorated.

(Source: CairoScene Team. – CairoScene.com)

In the best ‘take me back’ gesture we’ve possibly ever seen ever, someone has taken to the Mehwar to express their eternal regret and everlasting love (okay we’ve used a little artistic license to exaggerate a bit here) for a past girlfriend/boyfriend they wronged (now, this is just us but we’re guessing it’s a guy because these grand gestures are usually reserved for men).

The guy (possibly) took out a massive billboard along our infamous highway, and L.S., whoever you are, he LOVES you and he’s SORRY and there’s even a nifty little quote up there about forgiveness. We wonder what he did…

Like how bad could it possibly be that he’d be willing to fork over a small fortune to apologise? And, the more pertinent question is, can we expect a follow-up billboard either elaborating on what he did or letting us know how this whole thing turned out?

Aside from the awkward grammar in the last phrase, we have to give this guy props for this move. He has now set the bar for all future apologies for men across the city. Forget flowers, next time your boyfriend cheats you better expect a damn billboard. Also L.S., let us know what you decide.

first session of the UN’s World Youth Forum, suggested the idea of IYD, and it was later agreed to by the general assembly.

The first International Youth took place in 2000. “One of the year’s highlights was when eight Latin American and Caribbean youth and youth-related organizations received United Nations World Youth Awards in Panama City, Panama.”

Withering competition from vehicles like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Cadillac ATS have forced Mercedes-Benz’s long-standing C-Class to fall behind.

To help it remain relevant, Mercedes comprehensively reworked it for the 2015 model year, gaining fresh styling, class-leading features and exciting new powertrains.

Working against the odds, engineers were actually able to lighten the car despite its growth spurt. The car is about 1.6 inches wider, and its overall length has grown nearly four inches. The weight reduction clocks in at up to 200 pounds, a figure they achieved by incorporating quite a bit of aluminium into the C-Class’ structure.

Powertrain Prowess

C300s feature a newly invigorated 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. With advanced features including direct fuel injection this refined power-plant puts out a class-competitive 241 horses. Customers may have two engines to choose from but there’s only one transmission available in this 2015 model. It’s a familiar and pleasingly responsive seven-speed automatic that can be controlled via standard paddle shifters.

Technicalities

Everything (almost everything) about the car: round vents, artfully designed seat controls, optional open-pore ash-wood, and elegantly stitched leather doors suggest that the 2015 C-Class interior is thoughtfully crafted to luxury standards. However, there is one glaring exception; the navigation screen. The layout looks like an iPad Mini that’s been zip-tied to the dashboard

Of course there’s a new version of the company’s COMAND infotainment technology. At first some of the added functionality is a little confusing and the interface does take some getting used to, but with a little practice it should quickly become second nature.

This car’s available Burmester Premium Sound system (standard on C400 4Matic models) is absolutely phenomenal. The symphonic addition is part of the premium package, which also includes things like LED headlights and heated front seats.

The Drive

The car is refined when you need it to be and quite a bit of fun when you want a double-shot of driving excitement.

The up-level C-Class is seriously quick. Its twin-turbo six is exceedingly refined yet it still kicks like a wild stallion. This engine is impressively flexible. There’s not much to say about the transmission and that’s a good thing. This gearbox is pretty much seamless.

The available Airmatic suspension is another welcome extra. Included with this option is the Agility Select system, which allows you to switch between five separate driving modes, from Eco and Comfort to Sport and Sport Plus. For even greater customizability there’s an Individual setting that lets the driver tweak several vehicular parameters to suit his or her desires.

“My biggest – and only scathing complaint – about the 2015 C-Class has to do with its front seats. They’re cripplingly uncomfortable. After just half an hour my bony backside was numb.”

Helping make up for this comfort catastrophe is the available Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control system. This is bundled in the ‘driver-assistance’ package. Additional features in this package are: blind-spot assist, cross-traffic alert and rear-end collision protection. This technology is nothing short of astounding; it’s one of the greatest features ever put in a car. When engaged, the system will stop, start and steer the new C-Class almost without intervention.

The Verdict

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C400 4Matic looks and feels like a premium product. It raises the bar in a segment that’s rife with excellent choices.

It drives nicely, offers some pretty astounding technology and coddles passengers in a luxurious, well-built cabin. But arguably its best features are the torque-rich twin-turbo V6 and available Distronic Plus cruise control.

The new C-Class is more than competitive with its main rivals. Assuming you don’t mind the position of its navigation screen and the front seats don’t leave you crippled after a brief test drive, the new C-Class could be for you.

Either that or you will become overwhelmingly excited (by the car that takes you from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds) that you will forget everything you just read.
