Why CAP Is Crucial

The advancement of economic freedom requires

different types of organizational elements. One of

the most important organizations is that which

engages in aggressive issue advocacy, and the

recruitment and election of pro-freedom

candidates. This element is currently non-existent

in PA.

Democrats captured both houses of the legislature and a U.S. Senate and House seat in 2004, the governorship in 2006 (by 17 pts!), and a U.S. Senate and House seat in 2008.

CO went from voting for Bush by 8 pts in 2000 to 5 pts in 2004 to voting for Barack Obama by 9 pts in

2008.

Achieving the Objective

(1) To impact the political process, CAP will form a political action committee (PAC) that:

Recruits, evaluates, endorses and financially supports pro-liberty candidates for the General Assembly.

Achieving the Objective

(2) To impact the legislative process, CAP will:

A. Evaluate and rank legislators according to CAP’s values.

B. Monitor active legislation and issue position statements through news releases and commentaries.

C. Impact legislative policy battles and ballot initiatives from CAP members and large donors.

Why CAP Will Succeed Where the PA Club for Growth Failed

CAP will secure large, annual donor commitments, not rely on one-time givers.Several large donors already lined up

Minimize overhead, with most revenue going toward issue advocacy, aiding candidates and building a small-donor base via Internet and direct mail. Office space in Lemoyne has been gifted

Reputable board of directors and two part-time political veterans managing daily operations.
