2014/2015 PROJECT SNOW

A Very Citi Christmas…

Each year Christmas comes to Citi Dublin like no other,

Welcoming all Citi Child, Father and Mother.

Preparations begin late in November,

our Winter Wonderland is one to remember!

The team will work hard putting everything in place,

Everything has home, Everything has a space.

Sprinkled with lights and dusted in snow,

Santa and his friends soon have a place to go.

The big day will arrive with laughter and fun,

Toys and games, and sweets by the ton!

They leave with a smile and some with a tear,

Because they just can’t wait to come back next year…

I wrote this piece to open/introduce the new grotto my first year in Citi. The Citi Christmas Grotto is a long standing tradition thatwas long overdue an upgrade. From hand painted hardwood boards that were becoming a H&S hazard and with growing numbersthey also wanted to accommodate 2 Santa’s! I designed and procured a new look modern grotto to cater for kids of all ages withnew lighting and props! The Grotto is set in a large Atrium and can be seen from the city quays. (I believe the only corporateChristmas display in the IFSC!). We welcome upwards of 500 children (and their parents) to see Santa and provide entertainmentincluding a number of magic shows, puppeteers, balloon makers, face painters, arts & crafts and soft play area for toddlers. Workingwith in team house team and external vendors on all aspects of building the set and running the event including H&S requirements.

2014 – Set upgrade; including new grotto for Santa redesign of layout and new “snow scene” backdrop & fake presents.2015 – Prop upgrades; including, extensive lighting upgrades, additional trees and further redesign of layout for the Grotto.

2014 – Project Snow (Annual) Pre-Event

“It was a great day, there was real magic in the air! Catering for nearly 500 kids withour new Grotto the team did a fantastic job in designing, building and indeedtransforming the area, working late into the night to ensure everything was perfect. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, the problem now is the bar has beenset pretty high, so we have to try and surpass it next year! Better get your thinkingcaps on!”

- James Nolan, Senior Vice President.
