CIMAMotor 2011, the largest motorcycle exhibition in Asia

The 10th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CIMAMotor 2011) was successfully held

in Chongqing on October 13-16, 2011.

The exhibition covered the space of 60,000 m2 with 400 exhibitors, including 368 domestic ones

such as Haojue, Zongshen, Loncin, Jialing, Jianshe, Qingqi, Qjiang, Lifan, CFMOTO, Jincheng

which represent 90% of the production capacity of China motorcycle industry, and 32 overseas

ones such as Victory, Ducati, MV-AUGSTA, Honda, Yamaha, Piaggio, PEM, Benelli and Kawasaki

and etc...

Over 1,000 motorcycles were displayed and more than 100 new models, including 20 models of

famous brand motorcycles were launched at the event, which confirms CIMAMotor as one of

China’s most important new motorcycle product launching platform.

The exhibition attracted the participation of more than 100,216 visitors, among whom 31,066 were

trade visitors.

Over 26,000 motorcycle distributors were present, including 3,000 dealers of motorcycle parts and

accessories from major motorcycle market in Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Hunan, Guangdong,

Guangxi, Hubei, Shanxi, Zhejiang and etc…

CIMAMotor attracted 652 international buyers from over 40 countries, such as Pakistan, Thailand,

USA, Germany, Britain, and France. CIMAMOTOR’s Pakistani and Thai agents successfully

organized delegations to participate in the exhibition. However, comparing to last year, the total

number and duration of stay of the buyers declined. The reasons might be: firstly, due to the global

financial crisis, the motorcycle registrations rate for major motorcycle consumption countries has

been declining sharply, resulting in decreasing demand of international buyers; Secondly, since

the implementation of China Stage III, Chinese motorcycle manufacturers have adjusted their

product structure; Lastly, the schedule of CIMAMotor 2011 partly overlapped with that of 2011

Autumn Canton Fair, so many international buyers left on the second day of CIMAMotor for

Guangzhou to attend the Canton Fair.

37 clubs and over 2000 motorcycle fans from Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Shandong

and etc attended the exhibition. The trade function of the exhibition has been confirmed. Three

expensive luxury motorcycles of Victory, USA famous brand, which enters China for the first time,

have been sold. Ducati got more than 100 requests for its products. At the same time,

domestic exhibitors, such as Haojue, Jialing, Jianshen, Qingqi, Zongshen, Lifan, Regal-raptor also

had good sales. In addition, the motorcycle accessories and cultural product exhibitors were

satisfied with the trade during CIMAMotor 2011.

Over 40 concurrent activities were organized by the organizer, the media and the exhibitors during

the exhibition, including 2011 Forum on Chinese Motorcycle Industry Development- Better

Motorcycle & Better Living, 2011 Chongqing International Motorcycle Riding Activity, CIMAMotor

Motorcycle Knight Selection, “Civilized and Safe Motorcycle Driving” Poster Competition, Display

of 2011 Motorcycle of the Year, 2011 National selection of Super Motor-baby (MTBB), Award

Ceremony of Motorcycle of the Year and Top Ten Engines, New Product Launch, Riding Activity,

Motorcycle Stunt Show and etc...

As one of the largest scale motorcycle riding activity in China, 2011 Chongqing International

Motorcycle Riding Activity attracted participation of international and national motorcycles clubs.

Over 30 clubs (including BMW, Harley-Davidson, Victory, Honda, Benelli, Loncin, Regal-raptor,

CFMOTO) from Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Beijing, Henan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Shanxi. 147

large motorcycles above 600cc and 1849 below 600cc took part in the activity. Apparently, 2011

Chongqing International Motorcycle Riding Activity drew the attention of fans and media

nationwide and made CIMAMotor 2011 the annual gathering and carnival for Chinese riders and

enthusiasts.

These activities have greatly promoted China motorcycle brands and effectively built up

communication among motorcycle manufacturers, the parts and accessories companies, the

distributors, the motorcycle clubs and end-users. They also played an active role in spreading

motorcycle culture, promoting the entertainment function of motorcycles and creating new market

chance for motorcycle manufacturers.

About 836 global media were involved in the exhibition report, among which 283 came to give the

report on site.

As the organizer of CIMAMotor, we believe that after 30 years’ rapid development, China

motorcycle industry is getting ready for a great breakthrough which will bring great market

opportunities and challenges.

Exhibitors

production capacity of China motorcycle industry. In 2011, CIMAMotor gathered 400 exhibitors from home and abroad, among which 368 are

domestic ones representing 90% of the production capacity of China motorcycle industry.

Top 10 Chinese motorcycle manufacturers, including Haojue, Wuyang-Honda, Sundiro Honda,

Zongshen, Loncin, Jialing, Jianshe, Qingqi, Qjiang, Lifan, CFMOTO, Jincheng and other

well-known ones such as Shineray, Bashan, Yinxiang, Sunkin, Regal-raptor, Wanhoo, Kington,

Liyang, Hjsuki were present at the CIMAMotor 2011.

Over 300 leading motorcycle parts and accessories manufacturers from China, Japan, Germany,

USA, Spain, Britain, Thailand Taiwan and etc. attended CIMAMotor 2011. The exhibits also

included all most all kinds of motorcycle parts and accessories including shock absorbers, gears,

crankshafts, clutches, brakes, electrical parts, batteries, carburetors, tyres, locks, lamps and etc.

One thing worthy to be mentioned here is that some famous motorcycle garment and related

products companies were also present at the CIMAMotor, including: Off Road Racing Gear

Company Limited., Taian Dongsheng Clothing Co., Ltd., Metro-gear Limited Co., Ltd., Henxin Co.,

Ltd..

32 foreign exhibitors attended the CIMAMotor 2011 and the exhibition area reached 3,000 m2,

including world well-known motorcycles manufacturers such as Victory, Ducati, MV-AUGSTA,

Honda(together with Wuyang-Honda and Sundiro Honda), Yamaha, Piaggio, PEM, Benelli,

Kawasaki and leading motorcycles parts manufacturers including BASF, Nippon Seiki Co., Ltd.,

Vee Rubber Corporation Ltd. and etc…

The No. 1 sales of electric motorcycle brand-Yadea and newly-emerged Qjiang electric motorcycle

were also present at the CIMAMotor for the first time.

Publicity

About 836 global media were attracted in the exhibition report, among which 283 came to

give the report on site.

CIMAMotor 2011 slogan: “Better Motorcycle, Better Living”--CIMAMotor 2011 was publicized by all

kinds of media: television, radio, newspapers, magazine, internet, outdoor advertising and etc. At

home, CCTV, main financial media, and online media were involved in report about the event, and

abroad, the motorcycle industrial media in the export destinations of Chinese motorcycle were the

main channels for publicity. Obviously, it is a most comprehensive report about Chinese

motorcycle industry home and abroad.

About 836 global media were involved in the exhibition report, including CCTV, main financial

media, vogue media, regional newspapers, general and industrial portals, BBS, all Chinese

motorcycle media and over 100 global media.

283 Chinese media and 600 journalists including CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, 21st Century

Business Herald, The Econonmic Observer, China Financial and Economy Newspaper, Sina, andSohu gave on site report about the event. CCTV Morning News broadcasted the news about the

CIMAMotor 2011.

15 foreign media gave on site report about the event. All of them are well-known motorcycle

magazines and websites from Mexico, Columbia, Pakistan, Argentina, Spain, Turkey, US, Brazil,

Ukraine, South Africa, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and etc..

2,231 pieces of news, 167 special reports, 103 plane advertisements, 612 internet

advertisements were released.

637 topics were posted in internet BBS with the coverage of 1, 783,213 readers.

The organizer promoted the CIMAMotor 2011 by participating in 6 exhibitions, including:
