Please know that your priest welcome you back to church for Holy Mass those who have been away! In keeping with the directives from the Archdiocese, please be sure to refer to the signage in the church and on the website for prevention recommendations. Face coverings are necessary. Last Sunday, I mentioned at all the masses that James Sturomski will be leaving us as the Director of Music for the parish to spend time with his family. I want to thank James for all that he has done for the parish. We are grateful to him for his talents as a musician and, the work he has done with the cantors and the choir! He told Fr. Wellington and I that he will be around to substitute, so, you will see James occasionally. His commitment to the parish these past 9-10 years goes noticed but, we understand as a church, the family commitment too. thus, we bid him a grateful and heartfelt thanks for all that he has done. James, thank you and know that Holy trinity is home too! As you may be aware, there are additional Masses to compensate for the adherence of the limited capacity mandate.. Please refer to the bulletin for the temporary schedule during this time. PPlease Note that- We will continue to live stream the daily 9:00am Mass and 10:00am Sunday Mass on our website, Facebook and YouTube. * Use this website, The US Conference of Catholic Bishops, for daily scripture readings. http://usccb.org/bible/readings PLEASE BE REMINDED at the present time, there remains no requirement for you to come to Mass now that the church is open. Those of you who are at greater risk are encouraged to refrain from coming to Mass.
His Eminence has dispensed us from the obligation at attend Sunday Mass, at this time. As an alternate, Mass may be viewed online, on TV and the act of spiritual communion may be used instead of receiving the Eucharist. While we miss you, we encourage you to stay home, be safe and healthy. CARDINAL'S APPEAL & RENEW & REBUILD UPDATE The Annual Cardinal's Appeal continues to run for this year. Our goal is $84,500. As of last Friday, 98 pledges amounted to $17,860.00 and the amount paid is $16,520.00! During the recent difficult times, our Renew & Rebuild pledges have been slow in coming. Pledges are still being accepted to help us achieve our goal. The chart provides our current R&R status. For those of you who have donated, I thank you for your ability to support our parish.

# W/O 1 TThank you not only for supporting your parish but, also the Archdiocese of New York. Even though we struggle in these uncertain and difficult times, your generosity still shines! God Bless you and thank you so very much!!
15th Sunday in Ordinary Time O God, who show the light of your truth to those who go astray, so that they may return to the right path, give all who for the faith they profess are accounted Christians the grace to reject whatever is contrary to the name of Christ and to strive after all that does it honor. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. This is the Collect (opening prayer), one of the three presidential prayers that the priest prays to God the Father as he is offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The collect is asking the Almighty Father for the strength to overcome that which would take us away from His Son and to bear honor to His holy name. In this prayer, the priest is saying that those who call themselves Christians are to live like Christ, or to be like Christ, sacrificing themselves for the other. Also, it is to hold onto the teachings of the Church, even in the face of opposition, indifference and even when we don’t agree with His teachings. If we take a good look at the gospel, we hear our Lord describe the different levels of faith people have. Where does your faith lie? This is the question poised to us. So many of us say the we are faith but when it gets shaken what happens to it? True faith demands that we cultivate Christ in our lives. In the gospel of the Parable of the Sower and the Seed, Christ is telling us how one’s faith might be. Is your like one of the examples portrayed in the Gospel? When our faith is strong it is because we cultivate- that means we make use of the sacraments, bear the name of Christ with honor and bless our God with our very being. How do we bear the name of Christ honor? We give glory and honor to His holy name by the way we walk in the footsteps of Christ. The collect prayer is very telling because in it, the priest is asking God to give us the ability, like the twelve- the Apostles, to remain faithful to Him even when people do not accept the teachings of Christ or the Church. We must realize that when we reject the teachings of the Church, we reject Christ. That is what it is meant in that opening prayer- give all who for the faith they profess are accounted Christians the grace to reject whatever is contrary to the name of Christ and to strive after all that does it honor. All of this means is that we have a relationship with Christ Jesus our Lord. What becomes contrary to the name of Christ is when we go against the teachings of the Church, reject the Eucharist, which Jesus Himself. Our Lord knows that we can give glory to His holy name and live our life with faith and hope in God and admit that we need Him for all things are possible with God. We only need to let Him into our souls and trust Him. the question is, “Will we?” May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope that belongs to our call.
