Breakfast to follow in the Social Hall.

Parish Council Meeting

Monday, November 9th at 7:30 PM in the Social Hall

Veteran’s Day Prayer

Dear Lord, Today we honor our veterans, worthy men and women who gave their best when they

were called upon to serve and protect their country. We pray that you will bless them, Lord, for their

unselfish service in the continual struggle to preserve our freedoms, our safety, and our

country’s heritage, for all of us. We respect them, we thank them, we honor them, we are proud of them, and we pray that you will watch over these

special people and bless them with peace and happiness. Amen.

CYO Updates

The CYO season begins on November 21st. This year, SJTE has a record-breaking 181

children participating in the program, including two high school teams for the first time ever. Over the next four months, these children will

play more than 420 basketball games.

On November 15th, CYO will be hosting its annual “Tipoff Mass” at 8:45. Mass will be followed by a breakfast in the Social Hall.

Three staples of the CYO program are its annual Food Pantry and Christmas Drives and Hoops for Hope. This year, the Food Pantry

drive will take place during the week of November 21-28. The food pantry serves many families within our community, so please be as

generous as your means allow.

The Christmas Drive will support ten families this year. These efforts are part of the CYO

program’s focus on being active in the community and giving back to those in need.

After the season, Hoops for Hope will return for a third year to support the SJTE Relay for Life team. This event features such basketball

stars as Father Patrick and Father Maximo.

The SJTE CYO program will also return to West Point for a basketball game, followed by a

clinic hosted by the cadets. On average, these events have drawn 350 parents and children and

are a great experience for all involved.

Overall, the next several months will be very rewarding for many of the young people in our parish. Thank you to the coaches and parents

that volunteer to make that possible.
