FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - YEAR A 5 JULY 2020
St Christopher ’s is a Missionary Parish of Intentional Disciples,
passionate about being Christ to all, through our witness of God ’s love in action.
Welcome to St Christopher’s Jesus says to us,
“Come to me, all you who labour and
are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Shoulder my yoke….”
Some people think that Christian living requires us to take on a lot of stuff, making life more complicated than it already is. Jesus says that living the Christian life actually takes us in the opposite direction. Jesus invites us to take His yoke on our shoulders so that he can support and strengthen us. Jesus is offering to ‘shoulder’ our problems and difficulties. We do not need to carry them by our-selves. He wants to walk with us by our side, and wants us to walk with Him. As we continue to live with the ongoing impact of the coronavirus, we can hear, accept and respond to the invitation today, by bringing to Jesus all our worries and burdens. We are not alone. Let Jesus refresh us with His gentleness and humility, so that we may find solace and peace during this difficult times.

NATSICC Vision Statement The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council promotes and celebrates the cultural identity of our Peoples across the nation by living and expressing, in all its endeavours, the spirituality of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Peoples. In view of the current covid situation, the Aboriginal and Torres Straits Sunday Mass will be live-streamed from St Francis Xavier Cathedral in Adelaide on 5 July 11.30am EST.
