After a long and arduous effort with the cooperation of prayerful, persevering women such as Mrs. Maria Lewis and Mrs. Nerida Fortes-Hoff (Coordinators) and their col-laborators Mrs. Gladys Rosario and Mrs. Margarita Galindo, with pleasure our Parochial Administrator, Rev. Fr. Arthur F. Rojas will inaugurate the Daughters of Mary at both Masses today as our parish’s new youth venture for girls and young women. We are grateful to Mrs. Debbie Sepa, the President of the Archdiocesan Association of the Daughters of Mary/Hijas de Maria, for her training of Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Fortes-Hoff and for her presence this morning at this moment in the history of our parish. Our Daughters of Mary chapter will become the newest affiliate, upon information and belief, of the Archdiocesan Association and we are proud of that! Any Catholic girl at our parish be-tween the ages of 7 and 17 years who is interested in be-coming a Daughter of Mary may have her parents contact Mrs. Lewis at 920-2705 or Mrs. Fortes-Hoff at 330-1298. Congratulations to our founding girls and women of this venture!

BOY CORPS. Any boy who belongs to our parish below 17 years of age and has made his First Holy Communion should contact Fr. Rojas at 963-0730 if he is interested in becoming an altar boy (with his parents’ permission). Most gladly we will accept donations for our drive to purchase cassocks and surplices (the traditional vestments for altar boys) for all our altar boys.

CUERPO de MONAGUILLOS

Por la inauguración de las Hijas de María del 28 de fe-brero y para brindar un vinculo de formación masculina, nues-tro Cuerpo de Monaguillos se compondrá sólo de varones. La próxima reunión anticipamos para el sábado, 27 de febrero a las 15h en el templo. Se consideraría la solicitud de cualquier niño o muchacho menos de 17 años de edad que haya hecho su Pri-mera Comunión al comunicarse al Padre Rojas al 963-0730 (con el permiso previo de sus padres). Con gusto aceptaremos aportes para sufragar la compra de suficientes sotanas y so-brepellices (los ornamentos tradicionales de monaguillos varo-nes) para todos nuestros monaguillos.

Mejoremos el Hablar del Inglés

La Biblioteca Pública de Yonkers ofrece a nuestra co-munidad la oportunidad de avanzar con el inglés oral cada vier-nes del marzo (más el 25 de marzo), abril y mayo de 9,30h a 10,30h por el Grupo de Conversación. Se reunirá el Grupo en el sucursal “Riverfront Library”, o sea el sucursal cerca a la pa-rada del tren en Getty Square, en la sala 4B (cuarto piso). Programación gratuita.

Se dedicará la segunda colecta del próximo domingo a la obra “Catholic Relief Ser-vices”. Gracias de antemano por su generosidad.

Even in Lent, the Church celebrates St. Joseph!

Our patronal feast day, St. Joseph’s Day, will be celebrated as a bilingual Vigil Mass on Friday, March 18 at 7 p.m. with a reception (meatless due to Friday) afterwards in the school cafeteria. We invite all parishioners to take part in the celebration of St. Joseph, our patron saint, and we look forward to another Consecration to Saint Joseph that evening.
