A Stewardship Thought …
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way; your faith has made you well.’ And immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.” (Mark 10:52)
Faith is believing in something even though you may not be able to see it. Many people think that miracles don’t happen anymore. But, if you focus on the posi-tive, not the negative, focus on your blessings instead of your hardships, miracles will seem common.
This Weekend’s Scripture
First Reading: Jeremiah 31:7-9 Jeremiah speaks of God reuniting the people of Israel after their exile. He states that although they departed in tears, God will lead them all back and protect them, because he is father to Israel.
Second Reading: Hebrews 5:1-6 Each high priest is taken from among people and offers sacrifices for their sins. High priests do not choose to take on this honor, but are chosen by God. Even Christ did not choose this office, but was chosen by God to be a priest forever.
Gospel: Mark 10:46-52 A blind beggar approached Jesus and pleaded that Jesus heal him. Jesus called the man over and said, “Your faith has healed you.” The man immediately re-ceived his sight and proceeded to follow Jesus up the road. ©1999 Bon Venture Services, Inc.

2015 Bishop’s Annual Appeal Grace, Mercy & Peace
“Lay people are not merely the clergy’s collaborators, but rather share in the responsibility of the Church’s ministry,” said Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Through the building of awareness and collaborative relation-ships, the Office of Lay Ministry & Leadership exists to recognize, support and resource the gifts of committed lay persons as well as to educate, form and empower them to respond to various needs in the contemporary Church. To date, the Development Department has received pledges totaling $ 25,315.00 and payments totaling $18,732.75 from 125 parishioners. This represents 34.7% of our $ 73,000.00 goal.
Your gift to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal helps build strong parishes by supporting this vital ministry.
News from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul “Extend your mercy towards others, so that there can be no one in need whom you meet without helping.
For what hope is there for us if God should withdraw His Mercy from us?”- St. V. de Paul
Thank you for all the last minute donations of Coats & Blankets! We ended up collecting approx. 120 coats and 25 blankets. A lot of families will be much warmer this winter thanks to the generosity of the OLV parish family.
Please donate to our food pantry. Non-perishable donations can be left in the church lobby after any mass. Presently we are in need of: canned pastas such as Chef Boyardee, canned or packaged fruit, in-stant mac & cheese, canned meats and all soups (especially chicken noodle), tuna, peanut butter, jelly, crackers.
Our Lord said; “As you have done for the least of my brethren, you have done unto me.” This is the basis for all we do at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We invite you to share in our mission. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance please contact us through the parish office 732 257-0077. In the past we’ve helped people with rent, utility, groceries, medi-cines, special dietary requirements and many other needs. No work of charity is foreign to our society. Each new client case is confidentially evaluated by members of our Client Service Team. In the name of Christ we are here to help and to serve. Please put us to work.
