Our MDI Episcopal Churches have stepped up and are providing Sunday Services on YouTube. Jim Vallette, St. Saviours, and Jayne Ashworth, St. Johns, have produced a very processional format. Our three priests, Bill Hague, Steve Muncie and John Burton, along with members of all four congregations, have made a very important addition to our Christian lives. The team that has provided the YouTube programs, is studying the idea of live services. At first the services will be limited to a live site (one of the churches). Standing alone…

I had a sense of sadness for our beautiful Church the other day, while thinking about how lonely it must be. For the first time in 130 years the doors are locked, folks are not running in and out, phones not ringing, smiling secretary gone, no laughter and hugs in the halls to greet our summer parishioners, no good smells from the kitchen, no music and singing with-in its walls and no Communion with loving faces at its altar. There it is, standing alone. Time goes by. I bet others in our Church family and our Partnership Churches feel the same loneli-ness. We are blessed with beautiful weather, calls from friends, wonderful MDI Epis-copal YouTube Services, and “Music and Chatter” by Tony. We all anxiously await the day when we may be together once again and our little Church will be happy.

Joanne Sousa

What a great MDI Episcopal Parishes meeting we had with Bishop Brown in June! Eve-ryone had the chance to connect and to express thoughts and concerns. Zoom may not be perfect, but it beats not seeing each other at all! Thank you, Bishop Brown!

Barbara Linscott along with her co-worker Liz Libby started making a few COVID-19 masks for friends. The word got out on Facebook and before they knew it, it was almost a full time job! They have now made over 650 masks and Barbara has several orders for children's masks at pre-sent. Customers make donations to the Bar Har-bor Food Pantry and they have been generous. Barbara has now donated $1,700.00 so far to the pantry in Memory of Bill Krenicki. Bill is smiling down on them for sure. Wonderful job girls!!

The happy sounds of song, prayer and laughter could be heard on the grounds of Church of Our Father last week. Youth and Family Ministry presented our first in person lessons since March. The mini VBS introduced the book of Exodus and followed lessons that have been mailed and delivered to our cur-rent Sunday School students through-out the spring and summer. The com-mittee followed strict social distancing and sanitizing rules. We will continue to monitor changes in this policy and pray that we can offer more opportunities like this.
