Who’s ready for a restart to 2014 after this winter? It seems like we’ve spent the first two months of the New Year either cooped up inside trying to stay warm or outside moving snow. This winter has put many of us in survival mode preventing us from seeing anything beyond cold and snowy days. Maybe you’ve been looking for a fresh

start for some time in your life and for your family. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5th. It’s a spiritual New Year. It’s a time of renewal in our lives. We have several opportunities at Hewitt Church in this upcoming Lenten Season to help you grow in your relationship with the Living God. There is Sunday School for all ages, Bible studies and special times of worship and fellowship. Set a goal for yourself and your family of being in worship every Sunday morning during Lent. God desires to make us new people through faith in Jesus Christ. We are told in 2 Corinthians 5:17,

“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!”

May the Holy Spirit revive us and refresh us at Hewitt Church during this season of Lent.

Coffee Sales On the first Sunday of each month regular, decaf, some teas, hot chocolate and baking cocoa will be available for sale after worship. Proceeds from these sales benefit missions. Through Fair Trade, farmers support their families, stay on their land and care for the environment. Working in democratically-run co-operatives, small-scale farmers gain control of their own livelihoods and make strides together in organic agriculture and quality control. With the added income from Fair Trade, farmers invest in education and social services for their community. In the year 2012 individuals, schools and congregations across the U.S. purchased Equal Exchange coffee to the tune of 749,311 pounds that equals 29,972,440 cups which is equal to the entire

annual harvest of 360 family farms. Thank you for supporting farming families around the world.
