Script – “Cheeky but safe” in tone. Dropdown Menu examples:

How would you describe your friend? Life of the party Hey <name>. Great to see you. I hear you were partying til sunrise recently. Youʼd never know it. <leans in> If I miss five minutes sleep, I look like Yoda.

Fitness freak Hey <name>. Great to see you. Youʼre looking sporty. I actually did a sit up this morning - <pats his stomach gingerly> Iʼll be feeling it tomorrow.

Fashionista Hey <name>. Great to see you. Is that another new outfit? If I had your sense of style… <pauses to think, speaks slower> then Iʼd probably be a cross-dresser, <contemplates it> ehh nevermind.

Occupation Young professional But I know youʼre a busy woman, … that FaceBook status wonʼt update itself <makes typing motions with fingers>.

Gay and dating So tell me, what else is going on with you? Still with your girlfriend? Youʼre lucky; Iʼve been looking for Mrs. Right for years. But all I seem to find is a lot of Mrs. “Wrong Way Go Back” <holds up hand in the ʻstopʼ motion circles finger in the ʻturn aroundʼ motion>.

Bookworm And are you still… … a bit of a bookworm? Yeah, I read a romance novel, once. <hesitates a little> Well, actually it was a movie. <pauses for thought> Die Hard was kind of a romance wasnʼt it?

QANTAS, DIRECT FLIGHTS TO SOUTH AMERICA “QANTAS IS BRINGING SOUTH AMERICA CLOSER” MAD FOLD-IN CONCEPT for PRINT (working with designer Ant Larcombe)

QANTAS, DIRECT FLIGHTS TO SOUTH AMERICA “QANTAS IS BRINGING SOUTH AMERICA CLOSER” 30 SECOND RADIO SPOT SFX: Sounds of suburban Australiana on Saturday morning, the Victa mower, sausages and bacon on the grill, kids playing, Aussie birds and dogs. A screen door opens. AUSTRALIAN MAN: “Hold on, Iʼll just check with the neighbours. Back soon Honey.” SFX: Quick sound-montage of Jet Engines and wheels touching down. We hear the sounds of South America, Latin American music, people greeting each other and talking in Spanish, strange birds and so on. SOUTH AMERICAN MAN: “Hola, Bruce, ¿Cómo estás? Back so soon to South America?” AUSTRALIAN MAN: “Yeah, GʼDay Rodriguez, thanks to Qantas, Australia and South America are closer than ever. Now that weʼre practically neighbours, dropping in has NEVER been easier.“ SOUTH AMERICAN MAN: “So what brings you back this time my friend?” AUSTRALIAN MAN: “Ah, we ran out of coffee.” VOICEOVER: “Qantas now fly direct to South America three times a week. And with flights from as low as $XX, itʼs never been more affordable. So you can drop in on your new neighbours any time.”

THE SIDESHOW (GNW PRODUCTIONS) Scriptwriter

Contributor to Paul McDermottʼs opening monologues (and various asides) based upon the weekʼs news stories.

While he may be outwardly hairless, Peter Garrett’s comments this week reveal

him to be almost entirely hair-brained. Garrett did his best this week to reassure

voters that all similarities between the ALP and the Coalition policies would

disappear after the election, when he jokingly told right-wing Sydney shock jock

Steve Price, whose wife is an advisor to Liberal MP and Workplace Relations Minister

Joe Hockey, that “once we get in we'll just change it all”. Ironically this slip

only served to strengthen the similarities to the party that gave us such “non-core

promises” and flexible truths as a “never ever” G.S.T., “Children Overboard”,

“Weapons Of Mass Destruction”, “No Wheat Bribes To Saddam” and “Fairer Work-Choices”

laws.

The frank admission from Garrett is a refreshingly honest change from the usual

political lies and deception. In this spirit of “me-too” electioneering Prime

Minister John Howard is expected to follow suit and admit that if re-elected to

government, the Coalition would continue their regressive winding back into the past

until every Australian workplace resembled the set of Oliver Twist.

Nicole Kidman has again denied having ever had any plastic surgery done or

ever having used Botox. Confirming once again that she simply lacks the emotional

range necessary to create wrinkles. However, Kidman does admit to having had small

growth removed a few years back. Speaking of Tom Cruise, this week is National

Psychology Week…

Despite using an alias and disappearing amongst a crowd of 39,000 other

runners for 5½ hours in the New York Marathon this week, Katie Holmes still co uldn’t

manage to shake off Xenu-worshipping Tom Cruise and their alien baby Suri who were

both there to recapture her at the finish line.

On Tuesday, one day before his 59th birthday, Prince Charles and Lady Camilla

Parker Bowles opened an exhibition dedicated to the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamen in

London. Visitors to the exhibition were given a rare, public glimpse at one of

history’s most powerful and Ancient Boy Kings and were able to get up close to his

dried-up, 3000 year-old mummified husk. Some visitors even bothered to turn away

from staring at Charles and Camilla to spend some time with the actual Tutankhamen

exhibit.
