Summary

I am a pleasant, honest and outgoing person who likes to meet with and interact with others. I work well both individually and within a team and I am able to integrate quickly. I have a positive attitude towards my duties and responsibilities which enables me to learn quickly which increases my knowledge base I care about my personal appearance and I always try to present a positive image. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf with my friends and going to Ulster rugby matches. I am currently working as Software Tester at Arkk Solutions, as well as this I am also attending a part time course at the University of Ulster to gain a bachelor’s degree in Computing Systems.

Other Skills

Whilst in school I completed a St Johns First Aid course which involved an intensive training course.

Outside of work I like to play golf and five a side football. In addition to this, whilst at school I was a senior member of the 2nd XI school Hockey Team in my final year of school, in this role I was able to develop my communication skills as well improve upon my leadership qualities.

I have also taken part in Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver Awards. This illustrates that I work well in a team environment and it has also provided me with great communication skills which I believe would be vital to any work place.

Technical

I have a good working knowledge of computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Visual Studio and Netbeans. From studying Software Engineering I have been able to learn about and use various languages, these are Java, C#, basic SQL statements and HTML. I have also developed an understanding of the use of the ASP.Net framework as well as object orientated programming. From Systems Analysis module I am competent in the use of the scrum methodology, testing, the software development life cycle and as well as the agile methodology. Hardware and Operating Systems I now have good understand of troubleshooting hardware problems, Linux and the advanced booting of computers through CMOS and BMOS, debugging through the use of command prompt and finally the setting up of a group of computers too a network.

I also have a strong interest in the area of testing for both programming and web programming and as such is one my favourite areas to complete for my assignments as it

requires you to be both methodical in your approach as well as thinking outside the box when comes to thinking of some of the stranger ways in which you could cause your system to crash. The two main types of testing that I have used is black box testing where I create a test plan and then run this test plan to see if what I think should happen does and junit testing which is commonly used in Test-Driven Development which is commonly used in the agile methodology. I enjoy the area of testing as like finding ways to which will cause for my program to crash and then finding a solution to this problem as I feel that it challenges me to both examine my own code to find the own code as well as research causes of the crash online if I cannot find the problem. This research helps to further both my programming skills and technical understanding of the programming languages that I use in college.

The studying of Software Engineering has made me develop an interest in both the programming and testing areas of software engineering.

Home Shopping Delivery Driver, ASDA, Dundonald, Co. Down 01/12/2013-08/05/2015

There are quite a few responsibilities that came with this position. The main responsibilities of this job was ensuring that no damage was done to the van that it is kept in the same condition as what it was when I first took it out. This position also meant that I was responsible with delivering the customers groceries to the customer on time and that the customer is happy with all of the items that they have received and with the condition of the goods. If there was a problem with any of the delivered items, then it was my job to ensure that the product is refunded and taken back to store or too have the redelivery of the items arranged. I would also have to deal with any complaints that the customer may have about the service that has been provided for them.

I was also responsible for completing all of the necessary paperwork quickly and efficiently. Once this is completed it was my responsibility to check that the correct number of tubs and pallets that has arrived coincides with the relevant documentation. If this is correct I would then bring in the delivery. Following this I checked for any customer orders that may have arrived placing them in the relevant sections of the holding area. When working on the deliver it was important that I work in a swift and efficient manner to ensure it is does not disrupt the daily running of the store. For health and safety reasons it was also my responsibility that throughout the delivery process that the stockroom remains tidy. When working independently, it was essential that remained focused and well-motivated to ensure that the delivery is completed in an efficient manner.
