Throughout my career at university I developed a strong conceptual approach to Throughout my career at university I developed a strong conceptual approach to design; utilising art, literature, music, film and even fashion as inspiration. Working with a fairly minimal aesthetic and a postmodern sense of humour I quickly made a name for myself as a designer that pushed the boundaries and blurred the line between art and architecture.. Key Projects included:

The Warren – Literary Arts Centre Final Year project1 involving the design and transformation of the grade II* listed Final Year project1 involving the design and transformation of the grade II* listed grammar school in Richmond into a literary arts centre. Inspired by the work of Lewis Carroll, the scheme took visitors through the fantasy world of Alice to unlock their creative imagination. Project chosen to represent the university at the Freerange Art and Design Exhibition. The Warren feasibility study (dissertation), including research and analysis was awarded the prestigious Graduate Creative Writing Award.(1 Hypothetical, not live project)(1 Hypothetical, not live project)

EchoA live project dealing with the promotion of the redevelopment and rebranding of the area surrounding the historic Piece Hall in Halifax. Working alongside Studio BAAD Architects this project became a space for the performance of live music within the large courtyard of The Piece Hall.Taking inspiration from Hayden’s 70th symphony (a piece composed around the time of Taking inspiration from Hayden’s 70th symphony (a piece composed around the time of the first opening of The Piece Hall) the design of this scheme became a large fluid arch with accompanying ‘pods’ acting as a visual beacon to draw people towards the piece hall and surrounding developments.

To finance my studies I held part time positions throughout 6th form and my time at university. Although I spent much of this time as a high end cocktail bartender, I also held positions in customer service and fashion retail. By working alongside my studies I learnt to effectively organise and prioritise my time. The range of positions I have held and the diversity of the customers I have catered to has given me strong communication skills and confidence in meeting with new and potential clients and contacts.
