Here we are again embarking on the season of Lent, with Ash Wednesday

next week, 13th

of February. On that day we will provide three Masses,

7.00am, 9.00am and 7.00pm, to enable us to fully enter into this season, to grow in our love and commitment for the Lord, Jesus Christ, who founded our Church so that we would grow in the things of the spirit and keep our focus on God. “You

shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your soul”. Lent can be a special time of renewal, when we review our degree of response and generosity to the things of God and of his Son, Jesus Christ. The classical words of Jesus remind us how we have to die to ourselves and so live for Christ. “Unless the grain of wheat dies it remains only a single grain, but if it dies it yields a rich harvest”. \ Next weekend you will be issued with “The Year of

Faith” Wallet Card. The content being: IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY CALL A CATHOLIC PRIEST

As a Catholic I, .................... [please sign] am called to: Pray

Prayer for the Year of Faith Eternal God, Everlasting Father Draw us closer to Yourself through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Make us thirsty for more of You. We turn away from all evil and surrender our lives and our hearts completely to You. Guide us by Your Holy Spirit to know Your will and to always follow You obediently and joyfully. We pray that You open the door of faith to our families, friends and our community who don’t know You yet as the Lord and Saviour. May we boldly and lovingly live the Gospel “which is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” May we be the salt and light wherever you lead us. We pray that the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all now and forever. Amen
