The purpose of the Coal handling plant is to Process raw coal and dispatch it to customers for further processing.
Coal is received from mines in the form of lumps of varying sizes, by means of trucks.
Coal is conveyed by means of conveyor Belts in the coal handling plant.
Coal is then supplied to the crusher house through Vibrating screens to sieve the coal before feeding to the crusher; 20% of the coal that is received is already <300mm size so this is separated & only larger lumps are fed to the Crusher.
The crushed coal is fed to the conveyors in the crusher house through Belt. when the bunkers are full, coal is stocked in nearby area, and they are reclaimed as and when required.
The stacking is done to insulate the plant against the discontinuous dispatch of coal.
Now the coal is loaded into the wagons by using a
pre-weigh surge hopper.

CONVEYOR ROM1 & 2: Coal is unloaded by trucks into ROM bunkers, from which coal is fed to Conveyors ROM1 & 2, by means of vibrators.Vibrators are used to ensure smooth flow of coal.

Coal from ROM1 and ROM 2 are passed through vibrating screens on to the conveyors RC1 and RC2 respectively.
Vibrating screens filter the coal size less than 300mm onto the Slack 1 & 2 conveyors respectively.
This way load on the crusher can be minimized.

Coal which is filtered through screens is passed onto conveyors C2 & C3 by means of conveyors SL1 & SL2 respectively.
If supply of coal is directly of size less than 300mm then its is fed to conveyors C2 & C3 by means of C1 conveyor.
Coal on C1 conveyor is fed through vibrators of Slack coal bunker.

While coal is passing on conveyors RC1, RC2, SL1 & SL2 shale is passed onto Shale1 conveyor.
Now Shale is conveyed onto Shale 2 Conveyor and it is dumped in the Shale bunker.
