Children are born deeply connected
with God. At Christ Church,
children are invited to encounter the
Holy and learn the language of faith
through scripture, prayer, visual art,
music and discussion in a
loving community.
Pray. Wonder. Love.
Prayer
Art
Children at Christ Church pray in silence, in song, in words from the heart and through the language of our Book of Common Prayer. They also work to memorize a portion of scripture and meditate on it every week.
It is impossible to express the wonder and joy of God in words alone. Sometimes the stroke of a paintbrush, images of poetry or notes on a piano do it better. On Sundays the children are provided with enticing art materials so they can express faith through the visual and performing arts.
Bible Storytelling
Godly PlayGodly Play is a
Montessori inspired way of sharing Bible stories and Christian tradition. Stories
are told using simple wooden props in a way that allows
the children to experience the stories deeply and prayerfully. Godly Play also helps the children learn the liturgical language of our
faith.
Our Children hear the same Bible story two weeks in a row, so that they may enter it more deeply and reflect on the Bible’s meaning in their lives. The stories are told one week in the style of Godly Play, and the next week in another style of the teacher’s choice.

Children have deeply meaningful Christian lives and are always welcome in church. On Children’s Sundays, all children take part in the entire 10AM Eucharist with their parents and teachers. Sermons are family friendly and the children help to lead parts of the service.
